Who knows something about the antenna plug on factory radio's?

I bought a factory nav unit to put in my '04 Crossfire. The main harness plugs right in but the antenna lead of all things is different on the nav unit. These are subminiature plugs. On the '04 it plugs in at a right angle and on the '05 nav unit it plugs in straight and deeper in the unit. Anyone else have these problems and what do I need to do. Seems like the simplest thing is the am/fm antenna and that is what is giving me the trouble. A big help to me would be to know if the bigger plug on the radio is the GPS or AM/FM and the smaller plug near the wire harness is it the GPS or AM/FM? Anyone able to help?

A polite bump. No one knows the radio antenna set up. It seems as if half the forum members have replaced there radio's.

i would bet that not alot of us have replaced them with factory NAV units though... does the NAV unit use satellite GPS? is there a separate antenna for this? Are you trying to plug in the AM/FM antenna and its the wrong plug? im sure a picture would help immensely.

and give us some time to help. ;) most of us sleep between 11 pm and 9 am.

OK I got the mystery solved. This is good info for those with 2004 who are putting in GPS which is an '05 option. It appears as they went from in '04 a miniature Mercedes plug to a BMW larger plug for the am/fm radio. You can buy an adaptor at circuit city that goes from BMW large plug to standard RCA jack and another cable from RCA to miniature. Costs about $40.00. Once you have purchased this you then just plug the GPS into the small plug near the harness. Having done this now if anyone is doing this PM me and I'll gladly help. If anyone wants pictures I can do that too. Thanks for everyone's efforts. Sorry I was a little short but I was up late and it was baffling me.
