Default 2007 XF aftermarket question

I just got my new 2007 XF, and I wanted to swap the crappy Infinity OEM radio out, and put in a new aftermarket stereo.

I got the OEM radio out, put the VW harness and radio-side harness in, plug everything together, and I hear no sound.

The aftermarket stereo I bought is a 7" LCD DVD player / FM / AM / MP3 (etc) player, and the screen just says something about the parking brake needs to be on in order to watch videos. My parking brake is on (my XF is a 6-speed manual), and I wired the pink parking brake wire to the ground wire from the radio (the schematic for the radio shows that it needs a ground).

So here's my problem - no sound, no video, I just have power to the radio.

I went to a local radio shop, they said that the '07 XF's have fiber optic cables, and if i put an aftermarket stereo in, I have to re-wire all the speakers. Does anyone know if this is true?? I didn't buy an antenna adaptor yet, the local shop said that it won't work on my XF - the '06 XF's and before would work, but not for '07.

I've been looking all over on this forum to see if anyone has any information on 2007 XF's, or if anyone ran into the same problem I have - but no luck.

Please help!!!

Not sure why the wiring harnesses would change for one year? Something doesn't seem to jive.

Can't help on the problem, maybe call up Chrysler or go to the dealer and ask one of them, they might be able to find out.

I have the same problem, I have an alpine head unit, and I can't get any sound...they say the signal is fiber optics ...I haven't played around with it to much though, I was planning on screwing around with it in the winter when I put it away...It would be nice to know though if someone knows...my x-fire is an 2005 auto...I'm just gonna end up putting an amp and new speakers in anyways...but it would be nice to know.
