Where can I find a hot wire (12V) easily?
I am searching for a 12V source that is available without the ignition on. In other words, a wire or connection that I can tap into to retrieve 12V for powering an external device. The radio is one source if by removing it I should be able to find a hot wire back there. How easy is it to remove the radio?
Power in the cargo area would be ideal and what I'm really looking for.
TIA

Not near the cargo area but the fuse panel on the left end of the dash inside the drivers door has some live circuits.

I recall when hard wiring my radar detector into that fuse panel finding a few contacts that were live with the car off and the key out.
I was looking for a circuit that was only live with the key on and found one I could use.
Well anyway I hope you find what you need to complete the install.

I'll take a second look. I was in there with a probe looking for voltage, but confess I didn't check every fuse location. Reading the list on the inside panel, it is mostly headlamps and taillamps including brakes if I remember, all needing the key to operate. If you recall finding some hot points, It's worth a second look as the location will work for me.
Cheers;
