Default Upgrade to Nav Radio

Not as easy as described...

First, i bought the adapter, (VWA-3B) doesnt fit into the nav radio, looks like it is for an aftermarket unit, which one do i need...

Second, walmart doesnt sell the removal tools, i used a couple pampered chef pearing knives to get it out, wish i had the right tools for this....

Third, i think i have the 2 extra wires already in the harness... there is a total of 9 wires in there, does that sound right?

other questions...

Where does the changer plug in (or ipod adapter)

On the standard unit there is 2 connector looking objects next to the main harness, on the nav unit it is covered up....

What is the plug above the main harness (it is on both units)

I think that is it for now...
Thanks in advance!

These are some photos that we took when I installed, well bluecoupe actually did it, I just stood around and took the poor photos. The install was into a 2004 Coupe and the reverse and speed sensor wires from the amplifier were already attached to the plug.
Antenna adapter.

Antenna cable adapter (GRE40EU10)
View showing the two wire already installed in 2004 model.

Amplifier cable being installed into plug on nav radio rear face,
plug above is for 6 disk CD unit.

blue coupe please check that what I have said about the photos is correct please,

Yes, the two wires the screwdriver is pointing to. I modified my picture and identified the two wires and their colors. I believe the total wires required is eleven.
The instructions below, show the full installation. Bluecoupe supplied me with the two adapters and two wires. I purchased the antenna. The two wires if not in your plug already are special wires with inserts that plug into the socket that goes into the back of the unit. These are additional wires and do not seem to appear to be pre-installed on Crossfires that are not 2004 models. They are shown in the items required in the instructions.

I have these two wires, bluecoupe got them for me but as they were already installed I did not need them, you can have them.

I picked up the ant cable GRE40EU10 at a local auto audio shop. The removal keys can be found on e-bay for about $5. One forum member had Becker mail him a pair for free!
