Radio controls don't work

I installed a Pioneer 3300UB in my roadster last month. Installation went fine and all was well until today. Today none of the controls on the front of the radio will work - I can't change channels, volume, input or anything else. The remote doesn't work either. I checked the wiring and all seems OK. Anyone have any suggestions before I return the radio? I am getting tired of the same radio station.

I would think it has to be the radio................ return it.

Re: Radio controls don't work

It could be that the "brain" of the radio has locked up, try unplugging ALL power from it for a minute or two.

I doubt this will restore it, and even if it does - you don't really want a radio that is prone to this.
However, many microprocessor based devices will "lock up" if the power feeding them is intermittent. Any chance you have a bad splice in a power or ground lead?

Other than that...
As PNA said, it's probably time to return it.

Replaced the Pioneer with a JVC. I am very happy with the switch. The JVC looks better and is more user friendly.

Does it have a removeable faceplate? If so -have you tried to remove and reinstasll the faceplate sometimes if the alignment is put off a bit (ie after a pothole) you lose contact and control. Simple but sometimes overlooked.

I did try removing the faceplate with no success. I concluded that it was a bad unit and replaced it. No problems since. Thanks for the input.
