Infinity CD Player won't work
Please help! Whenever I put a CD in, it loads, says CDS, then says STOP and won't play. It never stops playing the radio. Can anyone help me? At least figure out why it's doing this??

Re: Infinity CD Player won't work
Is it a home made disc or store bought? I found mine had trouble at times with older homemade ones. If you haven't yet try another disc and do and see what happens. Mine would be reluctant to eject discs it had trouble playing it would start to eject then retreat back into the player - grab it quick if that is the case.

Re: Infinity CD Player won't work
so basically, if I get a new stereo how can you tell which one will fit. The Blau London 48 everybody talked about is no longer available, but I don't want to buy something and then go thru the hassle of it not quite fitting, wiring issues etc. Just want to toss it in and turn it on. Any suggestions? I also don't need high end, I can't tell that much of a difference. Thanks.

Re: Infinity CD Player won't work
Crutchfields would be my suggestion. Plug in your car info and get the install kit.. "supposed" to come with antenna adapter and wiring harness plug and special removal tool. Buy a unit basically over $100 and the kit is free.

Re: Infinity CD Player won't work
Also, the stock radio will not play MP3 files, so if it's a home grown CD that you burned, make sure it adheres to the Standard Audio Format, cause it won't play any of the newer formats...

Amazon.com: SONY CDX-GT54UIW Car CD Receiver with Direct USB Control for iPod: Car Electronics I had one of these in my roadster for a while - worked fine, has front panel USB port for WMA's and MP3's along with a single CD player. ( also has a remote control - pretty useless IMHO ) As stated above, you will need the wiring harness kit and the antenna adapter. I got both from Crutchfield. |
Re: Infinity CD Player won't work
Mine does the load stop routine on all cd's-home or bought. I wonder if this may be one of those stray battery issues as the radio changes stations on its own sometimes too.

Mine does this too, but my doof doof days are over, I don't want to install aftermarket stuff, just want it to work :(

Re: Infinity CD Player won't work
Mine does the same thing. I've tried cleaning it, as I thought some dirt was maybe confusing the loading mechanism. Still won't play cd's most of the time, though.
Anyone got any suggested solutions other than changing the unit?? Cheers. |

Mine does the same thing-exactly. That's why I went searching for postings on this subject.

Re: Infinity CD Player won't work
I haven't been able to sort out the problem with the cd unit but have found a solution! I bought a cheap FM transmitter from Amazon (£5), put all my music on my phone and then play the mp3 music through the car radio on an unused channel via the FM transmitter. Works a treat.
Hope this helps. |
