The kickers I installed required "some" modification.

Were you able to install the oval trim grills afterwards? With the Pyle's, it is a very close, but good, fit.

Hey Max,
Quick question. Where do you plan to locate your new amp for the subs? Seems like it would be wise to purchase single voice coil units from the list and to install an independent amp. I'd love to find room for it in the stock location. Any chance?

Re: what is the best replacement for rear subs??
I'm making the installation between the seats, on the bulkhead. Today.
YES, I'm covering up that useless "map pocket" which has never once carried anything in over 5 years.
Yes, the armrest/console door opens just fine. With the USB for the head unit inside with an 8 gB low-profile thumb drive.
A perfectly good alternative is under the passenger-side seat. The Kenwood I chose is 1/16" too tall-it contacts the bottom of the seat while moving. 2 1/8" spacers/washers under the rear seat bolts fixes that, but I'd like to see my work in this case.
There are a bunch of "flat plate" amps out there. Just choose one that fits!
And in the future, depending on how I like this setup, I may replace the subs with higher quality 2-ohm singles.

Well, it went under the passenger seat.
and it sounds so clean, even at elevated volume.
Good thump-no clipping.
Now all I have to do is remove all of the left over adhesive from the DINOC wrap and darken the "River of Silver".
The boy helped a bit and is outside washing both of the cars-his SRT 8 and my poor, dirty little girl.

Re: what is the best replacement for rear subs??
Ok so I installed the Pyles today. A few things
It is more than a little modification. You have to cut out a chunk of the basket for the magnet. The diameter is too small but there isn't much there to cut. I just put on some foam and screwed them in. Figured they are pretty much free air anyway.
I replaced the drivers first. It was in great shape and I was a little impressed with the depth of the eom surrounds. I installed it and listened shifting left and right. Could not tell much difference from the stock one. Then I replaced the other one and found the top of the surround was broken. Couldn't hear it. Just goes to show how little you actually get from the rears. I would say if your stocks are good, stay with them because you won't get much more with the stock amp. I actually get more base out of my front replacement infinitys with dynomat. All in all fairly good sound.

Re: what is the best replacement for rear subs??
problem solved
My friend had all the tools so the only 2 tools I was able to use were
1)a huge wood saw
2)a drill
I drilled so many holes next to each other to be able to cut pieces out from the plastic housing(for a Turk, there is no such a thing as impossible) and it worked out pretty well...
It took about 10 minutes each.
Quality of the speaker is perfect for 16$. installing a separate amp is going to be next audio improvement.
I am adding pictures so people can see/know what parts to cut.
