New Member crossfire roadster audio questions
Hi
I bought a crossfire roadster last March and have been surfing this site since then.
My car has an aftermarket Alpine stereo that is impossible to read the screen in daylight. I wish to revert to the factory radio (or upgrade to a readable marine grade head unit). The original harness plugs to the stock radio is gone, someone cut off the wires and attached on plugs. The rear speakers produce no sound. I found the rear speaker outputs from the Alpine head unit are not connected. (Green and violet wire pairs).
I did purchase an original Infinity radio, minus any harness/plugs and antenna adaptor.
questions:
does anyone have the original stock radio plugs that you are willing to sell?.
Are the green and violet wires in the crossfire harness preamp inputs or speaker level inputs?
thanks in advance

Re: New Member crossfire roadster audio questions
Excuse my question about the rear speaker leads being violet and green. These are from the adaptor connecting the Alpine and factory wiring. Upon further analysis these connect to null (unwired) connectors on the factory harness.
What I am not clear on is where to connect the rear speaker leads from the Alpine head unit to the harness so I can get some bass.

Re: New Member crossfire roadster audio questions
There is no fader on the original head unit. The way it's set up , there was no real bass ,thumping from the system. Many have found if you use the factory amp, the need to put a resistor in line at the door speakers. That way it gives you a better sound from the rear speakers. There's lots more info available under the technical section of the forum.

Agan many threads (including schematics) but in short: Dark Green & line input (4v is good). Also the amp is stereo but wired for mono and jumpered at the amp. Connectors can be found at any recycling center.
Want the mate to a scosche vw03b.

Re: New Member crossfire roadster audio questions
The radio is not wired mono, it is stereo as right and left are separate, there is balance control. There is no fade because front and rear are not separated. There is a PDF with instructions to rewire for four channel. The amp is four channel but the rears were not separated.
