head unit wire harnesses tight fit
Can anyone tell me the easiest way to access the area behind the head unit? I need to be able to position the wire harnesses so that they are not in the way of the head unit sliding fully into place.
Thanks, Dave |

Thanks, Dave :) Am thinking you mean the stereo? You need the radio removal keys to insert them into the thin slots on the lower left and right bottom corners of the unit. IF it is an aftermarket radio I cannot help you. Good luck! :) . |

I have changed radios four times and never had a problem getting one in. If my memory serves me correctly I always stuffed the harness and connectors at the back of the radio but also below it.

Thanks, I think if I could get at them I would be able to tuck them under or above the radio. I'll keep trying.

There is a plastic shelf under the radio, if I remember correctly you must push that bundle of stuff past that shelf and down.

That is exactly what needs to happen. Maybe I can try to work a small plastic trim tool past the radio and push them down. Thanks again.

:) Can you re-route those cables around that rear bracket? As many times as I have had my radio out, it was very easy to preposition the cables so they weren't in the way of any obstacle. Good luck! :) . |
