Is this how much Crossfires are going for in Canada? Or is this guys just having a bad smoke? :rolleyes:

A dealer here in Oilertown has 2 coupes on the lot , New reduced from $41,495 to $38,988 window sticker shows them as 05's. Exchange rate! $1 cad = $1.18 US cost in US $33,000 / GB pounds 16,805. He says he is motivated as its a slow time of the year. :rolleyes:

It seems that on average, the Crossfire sells for about 10-15% more in Canada.
Probably a result of the fact that Canada is a higher tax country.
Particularly on vehicles that come in from Europe.
Even to the fact that on new vehicle purchases we pay $100 air conditioner tax, 6% GST, and in Ontario 8% PST, plus about $400 gas tax.

If we buy used, from a private seller (not a dealership) we pay the 8% PST only.

www.autotrader.ca has several Crossfires listed.

This is what I paid including taxes for mine out the door.
So his chances are very poor for one used. :confused:

I paid quite a lot for mine back in June...or maybe it was May? $52,000 plus the extra warranty plus the usual BS... mine is an '05 Coupe SRT-6 bought new. Although I probably overpaid, still love driving this car and still happy with the purchase.

Due to the rise of the Canadian dollar cars have dropped in price. I bought my 05 ltd last year for $33,000.00 and that was a deal. Now I can buy the same car for $25,000.00 depending on milage. So its good for those looking to buy but not so great for those of us who did.

Do not buy a Crossfire in Canada. Import one from the US. I paid $13,500 two months ago for an 05 limited with 14000 miles.
Canada does not have much higher taxes than in the US. We are being ripped off. These cars may be made in Germany but they are considered US made. Just look at the VIN. There is no duty to import a XFire from the US. Making the mods on the bumpers and dt running lights will cost you about =$1500 though.

Hi, I just picked up my 2005, black, 6 spd, cedar interior, 11,000 miles in Virginia and it's now plated, taxed, etc, all in for $22,000 cdn.
There is no bumper modification necessary, however, the standard tranmission comes with a headlight module that does not have the daytime running light feature. The automatic does and the dealer just logs in and changes the country code. A Chrysler switch is $585 parts only. Canadian Tire installed their generic $35.00 for 2 hours labour, total $243.00
The import process was a breeze.

Welcome to the forum. You mentioned that the bumper mod didnot have to be done. I assume Transport Canada has adopted the U.S. standard? Which I think they were planning to do.

Hi, thanks for the welcome. Actually, our bumper requirements are for an 8 km hour crash test while the states are 5 mph. Same thing.
As to snowspeeder's question about converting the console to metric, it's not required as long as speedometer has both mph and km.

I don't believe that change has been adopted as yet.

The latest news, as far as I know is that the bumper conversion still has to be made and is the most complex and expensive of all for importation.

White with Black interrior, manual.

Not great. I got mine with 14k miles and it was about $18000 after all the fees including shipping to Canada.
