Pretending it's Spring.
I couldn't help myself....
Took the Crossfire out this morning. +5 C. in Toronto. Got back home, pulled it into the garage, removed the winter Blizzak wheels (which ironically NEVER saw snow...but I digress.) and mounted the summer set. Oh yea, I was so giddy getting the "good" wheels back on, I decided to paint the calipers as well..... Early next month the car will be delivered to Legendary Motor Cars for some tender loving care..... 48 degrees and a couple of hours of sun. I put the top down and Froze my @ss off.

Just because I am curious(and have watched dream car garage in the past), what sort of "TLC" will Legendary Motor Cars be doing to the Crossfire?

Nice day yesterday in STL, but its decided to rain today and make us think about the spring showers....my XF will be sitting in the garage all week as I head out to DC. My luck is they'll get some more record snows while I'm there.

what sort of "TLC" will Legendary Motor Cars be doing to the Crossfire? To Do List; 1. Paint lower front spoiler to rid of 5yrs of stone chips, hood is fine. 2. Replace fog lamps with new OEM lamps, purchased cheap off eBay. (Fresh glass will enhance the look) 3. Add rear diffuser at tail pipe and paint the inside of the tailpipes flat black, leaving chrome trim. 4. Add a very fine, fire engine red trim at edge of the four black side gills. This is just subtle added bling that will match the calipers. 5. Detail the engine compartment and discuss blinging out the air cover. Maybe some custom artwork? 6. Wet Sand and Buff headlamps to like new condition 7. Wax, Buff and Polish body That's pretty much it. The glass is already tinted very dark and the entire car has been re-badged including centrecaps on wheels. Rims and Rubber were all replaced with new OEM as well. So with the added work, the Crossfire should look pretty sharp when done. I have only owned the Crossfire for less then a year and almost purchased a new Nissan 370Z. There was a waiting list for the 370Z, it cost more then twice the Crossfire and quite frankly, I have no regrets with the Crossfire purchase. With all the money I "saved" not purchasing the 370Z, I have no problem justifying the added costs to bring the Crossfire up to "like new" condition. At least that's how I explain the logic to my wife......I actually SAVED money not purchasing the 370Z ;) |

Ice ruts down to 6 inch's, 2 inch of standing water that will freeze to nite, 4 inch clearance :D So I can escape with my Crossfire in the morning but be high centered and need a new exaust when I return at night, BABY SLEEP'S till May 1:cool:

Last Saturday was my test drive for the 2008 Crossfire and 2004 Nissan 350Z Ltd.
I went out first with the Nissan at 9:30 am, sun shinging, and a balmy 2 C. They suggested that I take it for a drive with the top up now and come back in the afternoon when it might be warmer. Told them that they were crazy and I was driving with the top down. The Nissan had heated seats and a wind reflector. Leather gloves, turtleneck and a light sweater ...... what more could one need???? Never felt a chill and we were out for about 1 1/2 hours by the time I took my son and other half out. Took the 2008 Crossfire Roadster at 1:00 and almost froze. No wind reflector. That is the first thing that I am ordering for my car tomorrow. I intend to drive with the top down from early spring to late fall. Moonbeam |
