Here is the list of events for 2023 for now, more events could be added. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.#1- JUN 1, 2023 AT 3 PM – JUN 4, 2023 AT 3 PM. The 3rd annual Crossfires in Athens is official!https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...-4-2023-a.html
#3- July 15th, 2023, Norm's annual bbq & pool party starts at 1:30 pm. Please RSVP here on this post. Norm will supply the meat for the bbq. BYOB and please bring an entree or salad or dessert or... Also, bring a towel for the pool. Location is 216 Powel Rd, Whitby, Ont
#4- Saturday, August 12: Ian Hunter has organized a jaunt through beautiful cottage country. After breakfast, at St. David’s in Lindsay, we will head north on Hwy. 36 for a visit to Bobcaygeon’s famous Bigley’s Shoes & Clothing Store as well as the nearby Trent-Severn Waterway Lock #32.
From here we’ll continue on Hwy. 36 detouring onto a windy road through a picturesque forest. Before heading back to the highway we can stretch our legs at the unique Miskwaa Studio & Outdoor Gallery featuring original local art in the studio and also hung under the trees and along the river.
Continuing on Hwy.36 we’ll visit the spectacular Whitung Ojibwa Cultural Center at Curve Lake. It is loaded with handicrafts, clothing, jewellery, artwork, many gift items and a small museum, to name a few. You can gas up just down the road for up to 19 cents per litre less for Regular and 24 cents less for Premium.
Next will come a nice patio lunch on Buckhorn Lake in the lovely little town of Buckhorn. From here we’ll cruise back along Hwy. 36 making a turn onto twisty County Rd. # 507, winding our way up to visit the town of Haliburton. A drive around Lake Kashagawigamog will take us through a scenic forest where deer are often sighted at the side of the road.
Heading back to Lindsay on Hwy. 35 South you are invited to meet for a BBQ supper at the Hunters. There are several local hotels that would be happy to accommodate those wishing to stay over for Sunday’s excursion.
Sunday, August 13:
After breakfast, if there is enough interest, we plan to board the Island Princess 3 for the “Peterborough Liftlock & Riverboat Cruise.” This lift lock is the world’s highest hydraulic lift lock which lifts 65 feet (19.8 m) above the city. This scenic cruise of the Peterborough area lasts 1 hour & 45 minutes. This ends our eventful and fun-filled weekend.

As many of you know we have been going to Fontana Village Resort every fall for our fall gathering. It has been decided to change the gathering location due to the continued decay of the Fontana Resort and falling interest in driving the same roads after 16 years. The Fall Gathering Planning Committee has searched for new locations and we think an awesome one has been found. We are waiting to get the contract signed and then we will announce the location and other particulars. This looks to be an awesome and adventurous time with new roads that are both scenic and fun while staying at a beautiful resort with amenities.

#2- June 03-04 Our annual spring Bbq and Tech Day BYOF (potluck) BYOB at 1776 Vigneault St, Orleans Ontario, just 10km east of Ottawa. I will supply the burgers and hot dogs. JUNE 03 Bring your car parts and some tools and we will have members there to help and teach you certain little secrets about the Crossfire confirm here
On June 04 we will have an all-day cruise to the Laurentians for lunch and visit Mont Tremblant village and go up the ski hill
