Default Cars for the Cure - Lake Mary, FL Feb 2, 2008

There nevers seems to be a lack of things to do in the Central Florida area but this event is on the top of my list. Come on out for a great show and I hope to meet a few of you there as well

Being relatively new to the Orlando area I'm quickly finding that out The 408 west to I-4 north off-ramp/on-ramp is pretty exciting as well (off-peak hours). Too bad the new "flyover" will ruin that. You got a favorite road?

Thanks for the tip. I will try to make it. Are you registering your car?

I'm a volunteer for the event and depending on the weather I'll have either my SRT-6 or my black 2007 Ducati 1098S. Although my car looks great for a daily it's not "show ready". The bike, however, is and will probably register it instead.

This is going to be a great show and at a really nice venue as well. Please pass the word!

Nice bike, but why enter it in a show? It looks like a factory bike you would see at any Duc dealer. Just curious if you have some hidden mods or other interesting details. I have a custom 2004 Buell XB12S and a Monster S4R Tri-Colour (currently being re-assembled after an extensive tear-down and blue printing session) (I like the naked bikes.

As it turned out I was invited to add my bike to the booth of Florida's newest Ducati dealer, Melilli Moto of Ocala. I was amazed by the response; people were all over it! Most were totally speechless but had that look of desire in their eyes If spoken, words like "sick", wow and awesome were in the top three. Although completely stock a black 1098S is very rare and unless one just happens to get lucky they'll never see it at the dealership or elsewhere for that matter.

BTW, if you missed the show... well, then you missed a great show. If you were expecting a custom car/bike show then you'd be disappointed 'cause custom's were probably less then 1%. I'm guessing that the $1.4M Bugatti Veyron was the crowd favorite.

Bottom line is that as a fundraiser the event was hugely successful

I'm with on the Naked bikes; mistakenly sold my mint 2001 X1 and will be looking to replace my 1098S with a 2007 S4RS (best year for the breed). Having recently moved to Orlando from NW Florida these streets are no place for a Superbike.
