Default An anoucement, and question.

I am getting too old to enjoy a crossfire, so I am thinking of selling my Aeroblue Roadster. It has been a wonderful journey, but last fall at the Dragon I left Deals Gap and when I got to the first pull out I turned around. I don't want to hurt my baby, (or me). I haven't posted it for sale anywhere yet, I want to give members here first chance at it.
It is a 2006 Aeroblue Roadster Limited, automatic, with 55000 miles, the interior is Alabaster and gray. You all know the features, it is completely stock, nothing added or taken away. The only mod is I lowered the seat, (kept bumping my head). It has never had a mechanical problem, (except, the heater control valve, I replaced it) there are no dents or scratches. It has been kept in a garage for the 6 years I have owned it. I put new ceramic brake pads, and new Hankook tires.
My question is, why is such importance placed on a car being "a one owner"? I know people who have bought new cars and never take care of them, just put gas in and drive it, when they start to have trouble they trade it for another new one. I have had mine for 6 years and someone else had it before. I am the third owner, I have taken very good care of it, and it appears the previous owners did too. But, everyone brags that their new used car is a "one owner".

The main reason for the benefit of a one owner vehicle is that owner knows the complete history of that automobile. One can then only hope they are forthcoming and honest with details. You are correct, just being a one owner does not mean it was well taken care of.

Exactly.

Speaking to the one caretaker (or abuser) can provide much more information than any dealership's salesperson who likely is quite a few steps removed from them.

Ditto on this! If the service records are there (mines in glove box for everything) , THEN I recognize it , as a well maintained auto an would it , as such...

But... I do my own service, I know I will do it right and when it needs to be done. There are no documentation. no service records.

Which is great and something you could tell the purchaser but a salesman would have no knowledge of.

When I did my own work I always retained the receipts for whatever parts and chemicals used. I still do that with gas additives and leather conditions noting the mileage on the back.

It only matters to those who care. Fewer seem to.

The value of owning and driving a Crossfire is priceless. The value of meeting and sharing the experience with other drivers is priceless. To put a price on the Crossfire is hard, a realistic value is somewhere in the $40,000 to $50,000 range, but that is a little outside the range of most Crossfires. So after doing some research, I have decided that $8,500 will buy this car today. (This is subject to instant and catastrophic change).

That is a very reasonable price based on the purchase of recent Roadster 😎
