Well I'm done...

...chatting around here and not even owning an XF. So I finally bought one. Whew...never was this patient about buying anything in my life, but is was worth the wait. I pick it up Saturday...my wife says "so I only have three days left to see you before you disappear on some sort of mid life "walk about"! I said no way "I'll be around sunday, I have to pack!"

Pics to come!

Congratulations Sennaspirit on your new car purchase, and for exercising such fantastic self-control for so long.
You're truly a credit to the Crossfire community. :D

All kidding aside, I hope you really enjoy your new car, and you're correct, it was well worth the wait.

Congrats...and I have to admit...I admire your pain threshold. You lasted a lot longer than I did...not that delaying a Crossfire purchase should really be encouraged. At least you had the benefit of this forum to steer you right. So...before your walkabout, have you considered in what order you will make the required customizations to make it truly Yours??

Mark, yep as I mentioned before this is a "fun" car that I don't need, but want, so waiting for the right time was very possible but annoying at times. Prices are amazing (don't groan guys) for the moment, but I can tell you that stocks are depleting quickly. SRT's are still left, and un real deals can be had. (FYI...anyone interested in a low mileage SRT programme car for about 26.5K...ping me and I'll give you info on this dealer). Lot's of programme cars have been made available recently. Low mileage/good condition cars.

My first mode will be the wheels. I'm going to put the ASA AR1's at first. Stripes will definitely go on, but I have to play with the color values to use on the Aero Blue - thanks to Former NXMX5 and all for the great recent conversation and pics.

Definitely will make the sound system mod, which was recently discussed. I need to drive it around a bit and see what else I want to do.

Congratulations! I hadn't even realized you hadn't actually got a Crossfire!

Get out there and drive it like Senna would have. ;)

Your wheel choice is exactly what I'd go with if I weren't leasing it!

I thought he had one already, as well... It's about time... hope you got a better deal than we did a few years ago... Now go drive it a little safer than Ayrton Senna !!!

Re: Well I'm done...

Amazing. Senna has been posting for more than six months already and just got his XF. Actually, that is a compliment to both the car and this forum. Good choice.

That's a real nice rim. I think it will look great with that color car. I was actually considering that one before I found a great deal on chromed factory wheels.

I shopped them on for you.

Hehe...been meaning to PM ya Pat, it's gonna be a crazy day on Saturday, but we definitely have to do a visit/if not this weekend...next!

Re: Well I'm done...

Maxxm: Thanks and very perceptive, but actually you should check my join date again! I guess that makes it even worse. Thing is, I test drove the XF in 2003 for the first time, was going to buy a Honda S2000 (used), but there was something about the XF I loved the look, the fit...so I waited and waited.

The waits over!

Awesome Knowit! Yea, Derek (HDDP) pointed out Tirerack to me (as did other members) ages ago and I liked those wheels from the moment I saw them. Haven't seen them on an Aero Blue...so I really appreciate the photoshop work bud! :D

Wow you are a patient man, I bought mine a month after I drove one.
I did get to sit in the prototype when it first unveiled here in the states.
Ah the perks of working in the car world. :)

Re: Well I'm done...

Wanna talk about no patience? I drove it at 8 pm and put $2,000 cash on the salesguys desk at 9:15 pm.They were closing at 9:30 pm and it was the end of the month. Got it for my price and everything. Later when I picked up the car the sales manager came over to me to thank me and he said "you certainly do know how to buy a car for your price, don't you" I told him it wasn't my first time on the rodeo.
This is the same dealer that came to my house and dropped off an SRT Aero Blue for that matter, for the weekend. Man, I beat the crap out of that car. They still have that car sitting on their lot 6 months later. I liked the power of the SRT, but the ride was very rough and no six speed. I will take my clunky six speed over a slush box any day.
