This looks mysteriously like the SRT6 listed for $18K a couple weeks back. Even the wording is similar. That also had a Carfax OK. I sent an email to the sender and he was trying to raise money to buy property in Thailand.

I reported that one to eBay and they checked it and had it removed within hours.

eBay told me that they will try to get you to buy off-line away from eBay.

If this is legit...it is a great buy.

SRT SIX is correct about this. This same type of 'private bid' for bidders pre-approved by the seller only was used by a scam artist on an SRT6 convertible for $18k before it was removed by ebay. This one too smells fishy. Buyer beware!

Look at the guys feedback from buyers...most items are for .99 cents...this IS a scam artist...

They build up there rep by buying cheap items...

SRT SIX is right, this pre-approved bidder only thing is a scam for the buyer to go off ebay. About a month ago a very nice Renault Alpine A110 came up under the same scam also using the exact wording from a car that had been previously listed that I had placed a bid on. If the price is too good to be true BUYER BEWARE.

seller ended auction early due to error in the listing. most likely the seller just left off the "1" in the price as andrew suggested. generally, eBay, and not the seller, ends auctions that are fraudulent. so this auction looks like more of a listing mistake.

This is his/hers reply to my email.

The ebay auction was listed from Ohio.

Hello,

First you have to know that my car (2004 Chrysler Crossfire) is 100% working and looking perfect, no flaws or dents, no scratches or any kind of damage, no flood or wrecked and it is an US clear title, no engine problems, the interior looks great. The auction has been ended early for a "buyer" and it looks like he failed for a loan, so in order to be the buyer of this great car you must have cash available.

The bottom price for this car is $9,000.00 with cost for delivery included. About the car location, is in Ontario (Canada) I will be able to ship the car any where. Shipping will be done by Autos Marlink Co. and the car will arrive in about 6-7 days to United States and 12-14 days to Europe. The car will be insured at the shipping company for the transport. I already have the car on shipping co. possession along with ALL doc ready to GO so will be no local pick up available.

For our protection, a down payment of $4,000.00 will be made through eBay Motors with remaining balance of $5,000.00 in 7 working days after the car arrive at your location. The most important thing in all my activities is that I am affiliated at eBay Motors vehicle purchase program and I have a Purchase Protection Account for $20,000.00 and I assume you know what this means. Please note that this service will not ask you to send the down payment until you can check and track online your shipment.

If you are really interested and have the money available for this purchase reply me and I will send you more details regarding this program "eBay Motors".

Sincerely.
~Betty Legg~

My advice: Stay away.

This is definitely SCAM CITY. IMO, ebay should not even offer this option of selling since it provides a conduit for potential shady offline transactions.

Anyone that says they can sell this car for that little money is pulling a scam... I mean, you have to cough up almost half to process the order? RIGHT!

If someone falls for it, I want to sell them an ice maker in the arctic!

Be careful of these, I had someone hack into my ebay and list a truck for sale. Started having people asking me questions about the truck I put up. Probably one of these scams.

Yeah no kidding - someone tracked me down today by calling DC and giving them the VIN and seeing who the owner was. I saw the auction and was shocked! Hopefully ebay removes it soon!
