Re: hybrid crossfire
Great - the Crossfire will end up being classified with the Prius!!!

Re: hybrid crossfire
Although this is listed under hybrid I see no mention of the gasoline engine. In fact they claim the range at over 100 miles. And a top speed of 120 MPH. Both of these seem low for a hybrid. I also could find no mention of MPG.
I think this is an electric conversion not really a hybrid. Looked again and the specs call for a 4-8 hour (110/220) charge time. Standard hybrids such as the Prius use regenerative braking to recharge and do not "plug-in". |
Re: hybrid crossfire
Yea, that's not a hybrid, it's a full electric car. Hybrids primarily recharge from the gas engine, which acts like a generator. Regenerative braking helps, but doesn't generate nearly as much electricity as the engine. At least that's how our Prius works. Another advantage of regenerative braking is that the brake pads don't get worn down nearly as much as normal, since the kinetic energy that would normally be converted to heat via friction is getting diverted to spinning an electric motor.
