2007 Crossfire dead?
 

Seems like there are conflicting stories but asking Dr. Z and he indicates there are still a lot of 2005 sitting around. If that is the case where are they? I search from the Chrysler site and don't come up with any. Can I do a nationwide search or Northeast search? I don't want to go to Autotrader.com because it is used with a couple of new ones sprinkled in. If there are 200 - 300 sitting around, where?

More than likely sitting on the docks at Port Newark, NJ, waiting for the dealers to snap them up.

Maybe the marketing department is waiting until November (when everyone is ready to buy a sports car) and offer them on Overstock.com with a $1,000.00 discount coupon. Oh...wait, ... that was last years plan :confused: ...

How does that work? A dealer says, gee I think I'll buy a Crossfire so it can sit on my lot for a year and then I can deep discount it? I would think Chrysler would be discounting them to the dealers to move them. Seems like that is not the case and the discounted units are the ones the dealers have had on there lots for ever. I went to my 5 star dealer 3 months ago and said see what the best price you can get a Crossfire for. I thought I would be able to buy what ever I wanted at a discount. They came back with not much at all and at no more savings than any car at that price range. As a matter of fact he now has an '05 Limited with 5,000 - 6,000 miles for $26,000. Not a deal. What gives?

Try a search on Cars.com for the Crossfire, and when it asks you for a radius of miles, select all, and then it will come up with over 20 pages of Crossfires listed all over the country. It does have new and used ones.

A little over 39K Crossfires have sold in the U.S. since its inception. Extrapolating from 2004 worldwide sales, close to 1/3 of Crossfires are sold outside the U.S. That would suggest that worldwide Crossfire sales are close to 57K units. Just under 70K Crossfire VINs exist, as reflected in Chrysler's recall system, including '06 models. So there should be around 13K Crossfires that have been produced that have not been sold. How many of them are in the U.S.? There's no way of telling, but I would guess 8 - 9K.

Worldwide, there are 6K Chrysler dealers, so on average each dealer would have two Crossfires. If there are still cars sitting at ports, the number at dealerships would be less. I used Chrysler's site to do a check of dealer inventories close to my zip code. The dealers had anywhere from 0 to 3 Crossfires, with an average somewhere between one and two vehicles each.

The good news is that inventories are shrinking, the bad news is that sales are too. Let's hope that the '07 production run is similar to that of '06 - around 10K.

the price is dropping like a stone, i think people are right the car is up for the chop.
i have just taken delivery of my new crossfire coupe auto, colour machine gray vin number 83110. it was made 08 05. and was discounted 6,000 english pounds, ie 19,600.
i traded in my '04 auto graphic coupe after 2 and half years 33,000 miles and only got 12,000 for it paid 26,800 the vin no was 16 something... but like all crossfire owners we just LOVE them.
also it can now have its english no plate (tag) CRO5FRE.

I know of five new 2005 SRT-6 coupes sitting at three different dealers here in Texas FWIW. One is advertising $32,000 - but I am sure they would go lower.

According to the new issue of Road and Track, "The supercharged 330 bhp SRT-6 version of the Crossfire are gone, but the normally aspirated 215 bhp 3.2 liter V-6 soldiers on in coupe and convertible form."
I guess that means whatever SRT-6s that are out there is it.
