2007 Crossfire

Everyone MAY already know...BUT...
according to ROAD & TRACK (Oct '06).
- SRT6 is History!!
- We still have the 3.2L at 215 HP (Although the new Sebring, with our look front clip, has an optional 3.5L 235 HP V6).
Base models have the Six Speed and the Limited comes with the 5 Speed AUTO (Although the Sebring has an optional SIX Speed AUTO).
Looks like we are still the Step Child, Huh??
- New Airbag and seatbelt tensioners (LaDeDa).
- Base models get Conti tires and Limited get Michelins.

Why would you compare a FWD car to a RWD car?
The engine blocks are cast differently to accommodate different mounting requirements and the transmissions are nowhere near the same.
I guess that's why the 300C has a 5.7 V8 and the Caliber has to make do with a puny 4 banger.

THE COMPARISON was only that there is a larger displacement V6 that is used in a NEW car that could have been placed in the CROSSFIRE for 2007.
How did you come up with FWD vs RWD???

Will the limited not be available in the 6 speed?

That's what Road & Track said in their preview.

i think that's the point is that it _can't_ be placed in our car, because the engine is designed for a FWD car, and the transverse mounting probably means it would be more work than its worth (20 hp) to put it into our cars which apparently won't see 2008.

is the sebring's 3.5L a derivative of the M/B 3.5L used in the new SLK, etc, or is it Chrysler's old 3.5 used in the intrepid, etc? if its the MB engine, then all these arguments are null and void. ;)
