Tires

My 2004 (18,000 miles) has Michelin Pilots. I just purchased all season Continentals for it. What has been everyone's experience in snow with these cars, and more importantly, these tires?

Re: Tires

My car came with Conti ASPs. Last 10 months, it handled everything I threw at it. I still can't get it to squeal coming on or off the highway ramps. No problems in the rain. I have not driven it in snow but I already know the answer to that.

Here in the UK we have plenty of experience driving in snow and a crossfire aint the car to do it in no mater what tyres its got. You need front wheel drive and thin tyres or four wheel drive of course one of the best cars i ever drove in snow was a Daf these had CVT transmission Volvo bought the co. out and started using the transmission in there early volvo 66 and later 340 ford also did a similar set up. The daf had a two cyl engine like a bmw bike engine with a centrifugal clutch that was like a brake drum with small shoes that flew out and gripped the drum as the car revs went up tranny was driven by two rubber belts on variable cones. Cracking idea the faster you went the engine revs dropped. Ronnie
