Default First post - a "thank you" to this forum

Just discovered this forum, though I've owned my XF since March.

This is a great resource! This forum has already saved me money and time/hassle. Took my XF in for service A at local oil changer, and was informed by the service tech that my washer fluid container "has a hole in the bottom." He tried to fill it up, and it kept spilling out.

Yep, neither he nor I knew that there's an overflow. D'oh. Happy to have found that out through this forum, rather than at the dealer's service area.

I'm looking forward to trying out the pelked1 audio modification, as time permits. At my age, the high-end is becoming elusive , but that mid-bass mud jumped out at me from the first.

Again, many thanks to the contributors who make this forum as remarkable as the car.

Welcome Fred. When I took mine in for the first time the kid didn't know how to open the key to move the car. This was at my Chrysler dealer.

The pelked1 audio modification works like a dream... I will say that you will still have quite adequate bass in the rear.

With some of the songs I still have to drop the bass setting to zero, but normally I can keep it at +2 now and it's pretty balanced.

To really 'tune' the outputs from that amp, you would probably need to run it through a EQ first. Should be as simple as splicing into the inputs of the amp. Plenty of room behind the passenger side floor where the amp is for such an application.

Cheers! and... welcome to the forums!
