Here is another one.

Your original photo did not have too much detail to work with.

hhhmmm i think it looks great, anyone know what the side fins and fake air vents are put on with?

blacklimitedcoupe 11-30-2006 03:08 AM

Re: can someone do fast photoshop for me?

I believe the vent part of the fins is recessed into the fender. You'd have to patch it if you removed them.

jp2005 11-30-2006 03:33 AM

Re: can someone do fast photoshop for me?

i recall someone on here mentioning that they were just put on by adhesive, hopefully someone will know the answer.

I agree with mayaman taking the side vents off (even though they're not functional) and changing the door handles to body color really upsets the flow of this car. In my opinion, but if you do it I would be eager to see the photo's that haven’t been photoshoped.

Added for FPMartinez. :p

LOL, thanks for the smiley. :p

Will we hurt anyone's feelings if we say we don't like it?

Re: can someone do fast photoshop for me?

I was asking because he did not specify what he didn't like. Taking away the vent makes it kinda "PLAIN JANE" to me but I didn't mind the painted door handles to bad and if someone put the chrome plates behind the handle it might really look good. Maybe...

Re: can someone do fast photoshop for me?

I much prefer it with the vents...
I think it looks naked... ;)

Put some real tall skinny tires on it, with some spun aluminum disc wheel covers, and ya could take it to the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Now, if the car came that way, you would be looking to add side fins and chrome handles.

Re: can someone do fast photoshop for me?

While I like the idea of side strakes on the Crossfire (a tie with it's MB heritage), I think the
current ones are ill fitting and look very cheap up close. The leading edge of the strakes are
not even flush with the body.

I have been toying with the idea of having them removed completely or somehow re-worked.
IMO, the car doesn't look all that bad without the side strakes. My photochop version...

ben ~ much better photoshop ... and color to work with. clean pic. ;) nice job.

Re: can someone do fast photoshop for me?

Ben47, could you Photoshop your photo of the SSB Crossfire without the strakes, but still retain the black vent? I think that may look pretty good.
I think it looks just too naked with nothing behind the wheel well.

Re: can someone do fast photoshop for me?

thanks for the photoshop guys...you would have to fab up your own vent if you wanted to keep it on. the "vent" and the strakes" are all one piece. i don't care if you don't like it, for a few reasons...its a photoshop and i haven't done it to my car. i am kind of disappointed with the way it looks in the photoshops as well; i believe in person it would look very, very nice. ben, be our test man go ahead, and take your fins off...so that way i will know if i like it or not. ;)

jp2005 = cheeky begger ... starts this thread, gets others to do photoshops for him (didn't even ask nicely), then expects someone else to actually potentially ruin their crossfire just so that he can see if he likes it or not... Cheeky Monkey!

i didn't ask nicely? maybe you can't read my original post, where i stated, "...please and thanks in advance;" maybe you're to stupid to realize that me asking ben to do it was nothing more than a mere joke, or maybe, just maybe, you just feel like being an *** clown, and causing problems. either way, i didn't ask for your opinion. to be tough behind you're keyboard and try and call me out...that's real cute.

http://gerrygeneric.net/assclown.jpg

P.S.-- this is exactly what this forum does NOT need, people taking pop shots at each other for no reason. i have thick skin myself, but realize others don't. i also admit, i have done it in the past, but since, have avoided confrontation as much as possible...can we please stop worthless posts like this from bollox, that do nothing more than riel everyone up?

I've thought about this for my lightweight GRP track mods. How's this?

Speaking only for myself, I think that looks much better than nothing at all. Actually, I think it looks very nice indeed. Thanks for the "creative" computer work, Woody. :D

I vote to keep the side strakes and change those amber side markers to clear ones from CTD Germany. :D

https://www.crossfireforum.org/galle...umbs/AD001.JPG

And you can paint your grille to match the body color too...

I agree... but you could also paint the side markers body color. Got the idea from the MB forum... only they were covers over the lens. So I took it one step further and just painted it. I think it looks alot better on the darker colors.

How much light gets through the paint when the lights are on ? I have a black coupe and think black lenses would look great. Can you post a pic with the lights on at night ?
Thanks.
