It's coming to a head!

Welp... I've narrowed down my purchase options to a brand new 2005 crossfire base coupe... black... how much should I be looking to pay do you guys think? I'm gonna try and get it for 20k or so... also has anyone found a 2006 model out there? It's like all the dealerships in my area are saying they didn't buy any 2006 models and very few dealers did. :(

Re: It's coming to a head!

I just bought a new '05 Limited Coupe 2 months ago. I paid $21.5 plus $400 dealer fee and taxes. Remember, you have to pay taxes on the manufacturer’s rebate which was in the neighbor hood of $6-7K IIRC. My total was about $23.8. So, I would think a base coupe for $20K is doable. The only thing will be how much the dealer is willing to loose to move the car.

Good luck!

If you got your LTD for 21.5k then I gotta try for below 20k then... it's the right thing to do. :)

I got my' 04 Limited w/ 30k miles for $17K (was on the lot for 2 months), a little high but I don't know how much less I could have gone, plus I couldn't pass up the deal. I would look for an '04 with some miles (depending on the condition of course).

Before buying a used roadster, I test drove a new (80 miles) base, 6-speed, black 2005 coupe in the Detroit area. The sticker on it was $18,900 or $18,500, I forget. This was in late November, as well.

Sounds like I'll be trying for the 18k range then...

Re: It's coming to a head!

I would shoot for the 18's as well. Any smart dealer who has a sell won't pass up just moving the car off the lot. My car was on the lot for 18+ months. I am sooo glad I didn't pay almost $35K for my car, seeing the prices now would cause me to miss-out on a lot of sleep. I do hope the prices level-off soon, these cars are too nice to be priced this low.

I paid $19,999.99 for my base '05 coupe...exactly a year and 2 weeks ago. IMHO, you can do much better a year later. Go get'em Tiger.

Re: It's coming to a head!

Got HER!!!... Brand new black coupe $21,050... Fair Oaks Chrysler in Virginia... Flew into DC and picked her up and drove her back home here to NY. Couple of things; I had to get used to the shifting... since she's new she's gonna need some breakin time, feels a bit jerky but engine sound should be good enough to help me get it right. Also I'm already experiencing problems with electric it seems.   The top right light flicks on and off. Looks like something came lose from it sitting on the lot.. Also the climate system seems to also have some problems as after one start up it didn't turn on at all.. I'm gonna take her in first thing in the morning after I find a good chrysler dealer in my area and sadly she's seeing her first set of snow. I'll have her in garage tomorrow evening or at the very least, off the road. Other than that this is the most fun i've had in a car in a long long time. Nothing but fun... :p

Since I can't compare or equalize in the price department, I'll say congrat congrat & congrat.

The experiences, adventures, challenges, pride, fun and whatever that go with the package, are equally shared and felt. :)

I got my '04 coupe for 16.5k out the door (including dealer fee's/tax/title/etc), don't be afraid to hassle em outta some money. ;)

[edit] Oops, a lil late, replied on the 1st page and on the second page you had bought her, Congratulations. :)
