VERY Custom Crossfire
I hope this car hasn't already been discussed, but last week at Cars and Coffee, a huge weekly car event in Irvine, there was a Crossfire for sale, and to my surprise, it had a SUNROOF and some of the best aftermarket wheels I have ever seen on a Crossfire...

His price seems a bit high, but I like the look of those wheels...

Unfortunately, I took that pic early on in the show, and then later I came back and realized it had a sunroof, and I didn't have access to the camera anymore.
nice rims but suffering from another incorrect rear wheel offset.
most notable in the auto trader ad picture below...

the front is near flush with the top of the wheel well and the rear is recessed. a spacer may aid.

But when you put a sunroof in this car it ruins the design of the spine running through the center of the car.
IMHO the stock wheels look better, but I've got to give him props, these wheels look better than most aftermarket wheels I've seen on the Xfire.

I think a modified Xfire with a Targa top might look ok and have the Roadster roll bars mounted on the back behind the seat just in case...I don't know though, you wouldn't lose the spine when the top is on but you'd have the open air.
but no sunroof, I had a moonroof in my prior car and rarely used it. It's either got to be a Targa or a Convert/Cabrio/Roadster and that's it.

I wonder what it does to the stiffness of the structure of the car. I know the Crossfire engineers were proud for he fact that the structure of the Crossfire is stiffer than a 996 911. The sunroof may have an effect on this?

Didn't mean to bump this up again.
I brought this whole Thread in a "convo" with my friend and I brought the whole...nope not really, the part of the convo involving this back here.
After reviewing this Thread,
"I like the idea of a sunroof on the car, if it's done right. The spine on the roof issue is a good point, though. I'd rather have couple w/sunroof than the convertible." ~ my friend.
"Yes the spine issue, thats why I was thinking perhaps the sunroof should come as choice and not as mod. From my field of knowledge (building construction), even if a building being modified have some great or small impact on its structure and or foundation. We have to calculate what its going to be or can happen in within the 999 or 99 years lease. It can be just for the sake of looking good or even tho functionality. Its better if it comes from the designer's (or engineer) table. They can plan, draft out the effect on structure, possibilities and probabilities, then protos then some test... before it appear in the end product. Up to the stage of product it still can be a choice between sunroofed coupe or base coupe or choice in some countries like... err... Singapore perhaps where there's only sunlight and rain...kind of thing. Bottom line is, it has to be from design and not mod. In that picture it looks clean but since its a mod, I am afraid it has possibly severe the "stiffness" and originality and not just look but safety factor... and like if umm I have another way to put it "xxx"...ok (that's the part where its not appropriate to quote here
) ~ me.
"I have seen folks mod their cars in ways that flow, that look like the mods were not even mods, but integrated design features. I've also seen mods that not only detract from the looks of the car, but diminish performance too. That's a no...no." ~ my friend.
Disclaimer - Solely my opinion.
