Lightbulb Replacement cup holder

Hey - I have read comments on the web about replacing the useless cup holder with a console or storage, anyone have any ideas where to find and cost?

It is/was covered by a bulletin.
Just tell your dealer that yours keeps popping open and hits your right arm and that startle could cause you to hit the steering wheel and cause an accident. And it really could, too!!!
They will replace it free!!
That's what I did...cause it did pop up from time to time!!
The replacement is a well that fits flush in the opening and gives you a "Stash" pocket
for... whatever.

I may be the only xfire owner that doesn't mind the cup holder and actually have found it quite acceptable and perfect for my needs. I'm not carrying too many passengers, so my pop, coffee, water bottle fits perfectly and I've never had a problem with hitting it with my elbow.

However, I will admit, that I stupidly tried a styrofoam cut once...and boy, did I pay the price. That was completely stupid on my part...was distracted and didn't think about the claws of the cup holder poking holes in the cup...

My main complaint about it is how it takes two hands to secure the cup. Every time I take a sip of coffee on my morning commute I have to take my hands off the wheel & shift **** to put the damn thing back in.

Find the right cup and you will not have this problem. I recommend one of the tall aluminum cups. It fits nice and snug, and only requires one hand.

I love mine, but I do pay attention to paper Latte cups and hope they don't tear when you place them in the cup holder...

The engineer was smoking crack while designing the cup holder. Still, it's better than none at all, I guess. I'll try to find a commuter mug that plays nice with it.

Starbucks cups fit just fine. Then again, I've always had them "double cup" mine - stays hot longer.

Nice cup AMGlover! Any one else have a favorite cup? I need something with a good spill proof lid just to keep the coffee in while doing the .9 G corners.

Thanks all for the response - I did the foam cup thing with coffee as well - I will take the advice and get a taller aluminum cup!

My cupholder doesn't bother me either, thats because the dealer broke mine...shoved it right down into the console. They owe me a fix it job, when I get the courage to go back to the hell that is warranty work.

How do you like that mug? Never seen one before. If you recommend, I'll try it out.

Do you know if this blackout/storage piece will fit on a 2005 Crossfire Limited 6-speed. My dealer is saying the only thing that fits is the original cup holder. By the way - never buy a car at Ourisman Chrysler Jeep in Rockville, MD - now Darcars. I have never had a good service with these guys - even screwed up an oil change on my car when they broke the O-rings oil spewed all over my engine compartment.
