TSB's How do They work?
I keep seeing this useful information about TSB's that apply to my car, but how do they work? I have asked a few times and no one has responded. does the dealer pay to get them fixed? does the car have to still be under warranty? How do you get the dealer to recognize and fix the problem besides calling them and saying" hey there's a tsb out for this, fix it please" and having them saying "screw off!"?

Re: TSB's How do They work?
TSB's are Technical Service Bulletins.
They are published to aid the technician and to disseminate information on a certain issue, usually an uncommon problem or procedure. They can range from cleaning chrome wheels to correcting a transmission problem. TSB's therefore have nothing to do with the warranty on your car, unless it covers a problem that is under warranty... |

They can tell us to screw off.

I'm not sure how Chrysler works, but Ford refused to perform a TSB on my previous vehicle because it was out of the factory warranty. Once it became a recall they had to fix it.

I'm sure Chrysler would be the same way...a TSB is merely a guide for a technician...basically, "here's a symptom/problem a lot of people have...and here's a technique for fixing it." If a car is out of warranty, a recall is the only thing that's going to get done for free. |
Re: TSB's How do They work?
Okay lemme ask you this. my car is still under warranty and I am having a problem with dried condensation in my headlight causing hazing in the headlight. I took the car in when the condensation was still wet and the guy said this was normal, he did nothing about it, now as a result I have the hazing. If I bring in the tsb and show them the head lights now, are they required to fix and or replace under warranty?
