Default Installing CTD chrome lower grills

I received mine today without a manual on how to install. Do I need to remove the front grill to install it and bend the tab to lock it?

Any tips with the install?

I have no installation tips, but can I ask how much you paid for them?

I paid $184 for the lower grills thinking it's an easy install compared to the other one that I was looking at on Ebay.

I hope Tino from CTD-Germany can reply on this or post a manual in this forum. I still hasn't installed it yet.

I also have no advice for you, but can you post pics when it is installed please...

The only thing I can tell you is something you probably know and that the lower grill has to be removed via the car's all purpose tool. I am guessing that the this new grill takes it's place and is hopefully a fit perfect for it's position...

That seems a bit steep - I bought mine from ebay for £20 ($40) and looks pretty good... It is held on with silver colored zip ties.

cyril,

you can anytime send us a email if you have problems or questions. i'm not every day at this forum to check all the posts.

sidez has see it right, the lower grilles are full replacement parts, so you must first remove the original plastic parts. if they are removed, you can fit the lower grille in the original mounting points. bend the stripes to fix the grille. that's all.

I have the slotted stainless lower grill's. My best advice is to remove your old plastic one's, then go ahead and install the little brackets on the outsides of the new grill's that hold them in. Then start with placing the outside end in first so that the little bracket catches the place were the old one's latched. Then bow the center of the new grill outward enough to insert the two tabs into the holes for them in the center of the car and then carefully push the center in while holding down the lower part of the opening that they fit in so that you won't scratch the paint. The new one's will set in about a half an inch, so be sure to clean the openings real good before the install. I hope this helps.

I finally figure out a better way to install it. It ain't easy cause it took me 45 minutes analyzing how to secure it right...i hope so. The middle tabs from the CTD grill is too long that it didn't really serve a purpose but an eye sore cause you have to just fold it out of the way. The outside tabs which are also long...I shaped it like a hook then fold it inwards so that it'll be out of the way when I install the grill. Then I push it in with a screw drive so that it will act like an anchor hook for the grill.

Overall review, I just hope it'll stay in place because it's only the center tabs that are holding it in place. CTD should make thicker tabs to make it a tight fit.

The grills look great and an outstanding quality product for our crossfires. Thanks CTD for this product and I hope this forum can give you guys more ideas in improving your products.
