Not gonna take it, SOLD
Well I made a decision, I sold my Crossfire. Here are the reasons:
1) High test fuel .20 more than regular!
2) No Spare
3) Tire size issue
4) $120 oil changes
5) Value - in the gutter
6) Dealer support Ha Ha Ha (get it)
7) Radio - whacko does its own thing
8) Hidden features - what the hell
9) Power - fair, but not breathtaking
10) Gas cap cover piece of ****
11) Rack and Pinion steering, not here
12) Winter driving Ha Ha Ha (get it)
13) Used warrenty more than any other new car and I have owned over 20
What I will miss.
Quick handling and the looks, but the above finally got to me. I was an ok car but I think it was a very bad investment. I have done much better with any pick up truck.
Well so long it has been great but I am movin on.
I will stop by from time to time but the car is gone!

cars are not investments... this is nothing new.
most of the reasons listed for selling were apparent when/prior to purchasing the car... sounds like more of a justification ... than a reason imo.
regardless... what did you replace it with??

Traded a G35 Coupe for my SRT6 for similar reasons mentioned including warranty issues that were ridiculous (mechanical) for what I paid for that car. Loving the SRT!
Well, I'm sorry you feel that way about your xfire...not sure why it's necessary to make a list of your issues to those of us that love our cars and find them a pleasure to drive. The extra fuel issue, but heck...what's a few more cents to drive our cars and enjoy every minute of it...

Interesting reasons somehow none of them concern me...
1. High test fuel .20 more than regular... I Like 93 Octane would never save on gas...
2. No Spare... I would take it out anyways weights to much and no need in such a car...
3. Tire Size Issues... Sorry don't know what you mean here... that they are different?
4. $120 oil changes... I change the oil myself... $80
5. Value - in the gutter... Not an investment and I bought cheap a year ago and it has not dropped almost at all since then...
6. Dealer support Ha Ha Ha (get it)... I love my dealer fixes everything quickly and effectively
7. Radio whacko does its own thing... Not sure what you are talking about...
8. Hidden features - what the hell... ?!?!?
9. Power... I think it is decent for the small price of the SRT
10. Gas cap cover piece of ****.... What?
11. Rack and Pinion steering... I have failed to notice its drawbacks if there are any...
12. Winter driving Ha Ha Ha (get it)... Not a winter car...
13. Used warrenty more than any other new car and I have owned over 20... Not sure again...
It is funny how much people can value one thing, but not another, but from the way you characterize the flaws of the crossfire that you found it sounds like you have purchased a wrong car to being with... It sounds like you need some thing like a WRX STi, EVO, or something along those lines and not so much a touring car...

1) High test fuel .20 more than regular! - Um...if you can't afford the extra $5 bucks a week then you probably shouldn't have this car.
2) No Spare - Deal with it.
3) Tire size issue - What issue.
4) $120 oil changes - Do it yourself, again if you can't afford it...
5) Value - in the gutter - It is a car.
6) Dealer support Ha Ha Ha (get it) - I haven't had any issues with my dealer...they aren't all bad.
7) Radio - whacko does its own thing - A replacement is cheap.
8) Hidden features - what the hell - What features?
9) Power - fair, but not breathtaking - Its not a supercar.
10) Gas cap cover piece of **** - Again...what do you mean?
11) Rack and Pinion steering, not here - Eh.
12) Winter driving Ha Ha Ha (get it) - Can't say...I'm in Phoenix.
13) Used warrenty more than any other new car and I have owned over 20 - I think you are just trying too hard to come up with negative. Also, did you have laundry list of complaints for each of the 20+ cars that you have owned in the past? Just makes me think that its not the cars that have the issues.
Of course I am a Crossfire owner and so I am probably pretty biased and you have every right to voice your opinion, but come on...these seem like a bunch of excuses to justify some sort of buyers remorse.
I really do wish the best for you and whatever car you purchase next.

Ahhh, when the new wears off and you just get that itch for something else it sure becomes easy to justify why it has to go!
Agree 1005 with Andrew. A car you drive and enjoy is not bought as an investment. Trade in value on ALL cars is bad. Found this out years ago when I was convinced I should buy a Toyota. One of the most troublesome new cars I've owned, and I have owned a lot of new cars. When it came time to trade in, suddenly the great resale value was no better than anything else. The only time you get good money for a trade is when you overpay for the one you are going to buy!
Sorry you had difficulty with your car. Selling it was the right thing for YOU to do. Hope you get something you will like more.

This is probably a dead issue. The guy probably isn't listening anymore.
As for the performance: The SRT performs in the upper realm of cars. Any car that can do 0-60 in under 5 seconds is FAST!! Any car that can do 0-60 in under 5 seconds for under 30 grand (with the current deals) is a phenomenon! This car's performance numbers are nearly equal to the 911 S that costs about $95,000!
Many of the problems the gentleman listed sound like they can only be remedied by purchasing a sedan or economy car. Well, maybe a BMW would fix his issues too. No maint. costs (at least for a while), holds value, sporty, handles well, and everyone would approve due to the sheep affect. That's probably the main reason here. It probably feels better to him to say he owns a BMW instead of a Chrysler. Badge bragging. IMO, BMWs are nearly as common as Honda civics. Enjoy whatever car you decide on in the future.
Edited: I fixed my typo. YES, I MEANT UNDER 5 SECONDS, NOT UNDER 4. TYPO!

I drove the hell out of my '04 coupe for two and a half years.
1 - Got 27 MPG on a regular basis. (I miss that).
2 - Only 2 trips for warranty work and both were fog lights.
3 - I live in IN. & the little thing got around in snow pretty good.
4 - Thought the radio was great except for reception, mainly my location.
I will have to say I really miss that car, my SRT6 only gets around 20 MPG. My new '07 4X4 GMC truck that is the replacement for the '04 coupe only gets 16 to 17 MPG.

But just to nitpick, I've never seen a road test of it with sub 4 second 0-60. Quick google showed a range of 4.8 from Car and Driver, 4.9 Motor trend to 5.1 Automobile and 5.4 to 60 from Motor Week.
High 4's/low 5's are great and nothing to be embarrassed about, and it's a great value. But it's not a sub 4 second car.

The comparison to the 911 S is still valid because I meant to say under 5 in the first place. The 911 has times of around 4.7 - 4.8.

I fully understand your decision, as these are some of the reasons why I'm dumping my crossfire too.
Who did you sell the car to and for how much? unless your trading in on something else.?

This almost sound like the excuses one looks for a divorce. You fall in love with someone, and find everything fascinating about them, so you marry them. Then, you can't stand the spouse anymore and everything about them bothers you, and you start justifying the reason you want to split.
