Saw this on ebay while looking at mustangs and crossfires.

It's a coupe (not a crossfire obviously), with crossfire wheels!

I own two of these mustangs, and never knew that the mustang 5-lug wheels were the same pattern as the Crossfire's. Go figure.

FOR THE RECORD - I would never consider swapping my wheels between my mustangs and my crossfire.

I found it interesting - and although it should probably go in the 'other car' forum, more people would enjoy it in here.

They actually look pretty darn good on that Fox. Now remove the Chrysler Emblem (if that hasn't been done already) and put a Ford one on, and they will look right at home. SRT-6 Wheels would look even better though...

That's a pretty good trick! I wonder if they bolted right on or were any modifications required.

All fox body stangs came with a 4-lug bolt pattern.

99% of the ones which have a 5-lug conversion done on them are done using a 94+ mustang spindle/hub/rotor on the front, an early lincoln rotor (bolts directly to the mustang spindle), or a set of brakes from an SVO mustang.

The rear can be done using a complete rear end out of a '94 - '98 mustang, Lincoln Mark VIII brakes with custom mounting brackets, or two passenger side Ford Ranger axles (certain years, I forget which off the top of my head). The ford ranger axles are a direct fit, but 5 lug instead of 4. So, you change the axles and the drums and you are done.

So, I would imagine this car has a 5 lug conversion, likely from a '94+ mustang.

This has to make you wonder if there are any good STOCK '94+ mustang wheels that would fit correctly on a crossfire. I know that roush and Saleen uses 18's, and IIRC the FR500 wheels were 18's...but not sure of any others that are over 17". Not sure how the backspacing would work out either. Could be interesting. I know those FR500 wheels are VERY nice looking. Even a set of Bullits in black or gunmetal would look decent if you like the 5 lug look...and they make those from 17-20" for mustangs, even some with a 'deep dish' design.

I also know that 2nd Gen Toyota Supras and some Pontiac Grand Ams have the same lug pattern...as I have seen Supras with cobra wheels, and Grand Ams with mustang wheels as well.

Interesting either way...although I don't like the look of the XFire wheels on the Fox coupe.

Crossfire/MB bolt pattern is 5x112 and Mustangs are 5x4.5 (114.3) so it wouldn't take much to make them fit. Mustang wheels fit larger bolt pattern Chrysler FWD vehicles too. I used to have an aftermarket Mustang wheel on one of my Avengers and then put them on a newer Intrepid I had. Grand Am wheels also have a slightly different bolt pattern too but I've seen Grand Am wheels on an Avenger.

Hmmm... I'd dare say the Saleen wheels would look decent on there... I'm running those on my truck, and I love them. A BREEZE to clean...

Here they are on mine:
