Bluetooth OBDkey

3 Attachment(s)
So I got my bluetooth version of the OBDkey in... I only played with it for 5 minutes because I have other work to do, but basically plug it in and start the car and then pair it with your computer. And then launch the OBDkey program...

Here are some pics...

Looks interesting, I wonder if I can get boost for the SRT-6?

Quite Nice!
I use auto tap which gives nice graph's also. Wondered about the blue tooth though, wireless is it? I have a hardware device for OBD2 which is hard wired. Some wonderful software out there for today's techy automobiles. Always learning somthin' new!

The link is in the first post with how to get the 10% off Crossfire Forum discount. (HINT: Click on the words OBDkey in the first post).

@ Shawn:
Just for Diagnostics now. Supposedly, you can get into the system deeper by analyzing the protocol.

acrispy1, how do you like it so far? I think it's pretty useful from the little I've played with it.

Re: Bluetooth OBDkey

I wonder if we could use this as an SEA-J2534 pass-through device?

If so, then you would be able to modify anything any ECU/PCM controlled parameters. fuel trim, timing, transmission shifts, redlines, governors. ect.

I found one which just came out and it like $1,700 which is way out of my range. I do this on my Mazdaspeed Protege, using the PerfectPower SMT-6. I have a friend who built from scratch a MegaSquirt unit for his Miata and thought about building one for the crossfire...

You can also buy a subscription for the unit from Chrysler, but it was $1,700 as well for the crossfire software, but it gives you a years access to everything they have on the crossfire, all manuals, tech computer-based-training modules, they used to teach their techs about how to fix the car, plus all Factory PCM flashes for all crossfire models.

I did find out however Chrysler will let you lease the software subscription for $20 a day and $200 for a month. So I was hoping enough of the DFW,TX. crew would get together and we buy the device and subscription and split the cost. This would benefit us all and you would only need to use it when making heavy mod changes.

I still do a lot of ECU/PCM tuning via Stand alones and piggybacks for the Mazda guys, but have yet to tune a Crossfire, but I think I will hopefully get my chance with Lantana,TX when we build his V8-Sleeper!!!

Daniel,

Do you know if it enable you to tweak parameters and/or turn on/off things like TPM? From what I learned on their website it looks like you can only monitor and erase codes. Is that correct or does it do more?
Thanks.

I had an e-mail discussion with Sinclair Eaton over at KBM systems. If you know the correct serial string to negotiate with the car, you can modify any parameters. The key is knowing how to open communications with the car. That's where some hacking comes in.
