Chrysler Max Care Extended Warranty Todk64
Hi Tod and all,
Anyone heard any rumors of demise on the availability of the LIFETIME Maxium Care warranty on new vehicles, as long as warranty/service contract is purchased before the car reaches 12 months or 12,000 miles? Tacks on the 3/36 as it ends.
If so...or ever...I'll be checking in for all info at this very informative site.
Still shows up as available on the new 07 and 08 models per the Chrysler.com web site.
I'd like to wait as long as possible before shelling out the best estimate of $1550, including service fee, or signing up for the 12 month payment plan in order to add onto the Lifetime Powertrain warranty that came with the 07 SE purchased in Dec 07; however, don't want to miss out ultimately, wind up pennywise and pound foolish.

If I buy my car from a private seller how do I transfer the extended warranty? Also if it does not have an extended warranty how do I get one?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I've looked through this thread and some others, and my memory's obviously not what it used to be. I'm planning to buy an XF in the near future, and was wondering whether all Crossfires will qualify, assuming that they are within 4 years/48,000 miles of the start date. Is this a correct assumption, or do only "certified" cars qualify? Also, if a car is not "certified", does it cost more to add a MaxCare plan to a non-certified car? Thanks in advance for the replies.
OK, I am looking at an 06 on eBay right now by a private owner. He has part of his 3/36, some 3/3000 Max Care(?), and a balance of an 8/80. From what I am reading here, if this car has an 8/80 on it, it was a certified pre-owned. Is that correct? Maybe the Max Care stuff is a typo--it makes no sense to me that it would be shorter than the rest of his bumper-to-bumper.
Obviously, a call for clarification is in order. Anything I should ask? It has less than 10,000 miles but it doesn't look like he put all of them on it. The next buyer would apparently be #3 in less than 10,000 miles. No?

I've also learned that you can't purchase a Service contract directly from Chrysler. The service contracts on line are websites made by dealers. I don't want to take anything away from them, and I would tell anyone to purchase a Chrysler warranty instead of a 3rd party warranty.
The main service contract we sell is the Maximum Care plan. As long as your car is under 48,000 miles and within 48 months from the in-service date, it is eligible for this coverage. It extends the 3/36 bumper to bumper to a 7 yr/70,000 miles.
This includes: All Electrical Systems, All Engine Computers, Shocks, Torsion Bars, Engine Mounts, All Seat, Hood, Deck Lid, Convertible Tops, Window Mechanisms, Engine, Transmission, Driveline, Steering, Air Conditioning, Engine Cooling and Fuel Systems, Front and Rear Suspension, Anti-Lock Brakes. I'm sure you get the picture.
Its easier to tell you that it doesn't cover: Maintenance, Oil Changes, Glass, Plastic Lenses (Fogged Headlights) Paint and Soft Trim, Brake Pads and Rotors, Belts. There are up to 5007 Mechanical Components that are covered.
This plan is also Transferable to the next owner for $50.00. You can chose your deductible of $100, $50, or $0.00. And you can also have the entire amount refunded back to you from Chrysler if the time (7yrs) expires and it hasn't been used.
I have been able to quote people a savings of around $600 - $900 off of Chryslers retail price. We are doing this on a cost + basis. However, there is not a clear cut price. It all depends on what coverage is on your car now. Year, Miles, Certified, SRT-6, these factors all play a role. I'll be glad to give anyone a quote, I just need your last 8 VIN# and current miles. The average price I've seen so far (w/ $100.00 Deductible) has been $2,100 - $2,500 Retail, and we have been between $1,500 - $1,700.

Sorry, but the 7/70 from Chrysler is a rip off, because according to the exclusion list they are not covering too much. Anyway *I* canceled it yesterday when I really read their exclusion list. Just the fact that no electrical systems are covered. Cam you imagine their answer if your BAS unit goes out? Or if something happens with your brakes (excluded)?
Interesting... Can anyone confirm whether or not MaxCare covers ALL electrical systems and ALL engine computers? That's pretty important IMO....
BTW thanks for the info SilverFox!
BTW thanks for the info SilverFox!
I just purchased a brand new, never titled '06 - as well a Max Care 84/75000 extension - I have not received paperwork on the extended warranty so can't comment on 'exclusions' - if it excludes electrical things that's a real problem in my mind - anyway - the extended cost a little over $1300 from the dealer - the lifetime powertrain is driven by when the vehicle is originally purchased - I think after June 27th 2007 - so my vehicle it applies to - the lifetime is non-transferable regardless and that is stated in the lifetime language...don't know if any of that helps - you gotta love these cars though - eh?

I always love to be able to back up what I say because I do not say things lightly. So therefore: If someone has a different contract, then the exclusions may be different, but the attached document is the all important of what is covered or not covered and is what I got in the mail and what caused me to cancel the contract. Read it carefully, and make up your own mind. ESPECIALLY read what this document says is EXCLUDED.
Disclaimer: This is the warranty contract that was sold to me by the Chrysler dealership as a 7/70 contract.
Oh, and if one of the dealers has a different contract I'd still be interested, but not with that list of exclusions.

Tod's( in the 1st Post of this Thread of his) is a CHRYSLER Max Care Warranty(s).
Here it is Copied again word for word: (or you can go back to Post one and read the Same) you should also read all 5 pages of this Thread to get up to date. Tod & his replacement are very Reliable, they have proved that on this forum, time & again.
Chrysler Max Care Extended Warranty Todk64 - 10-25-2007 , 09:24 AM
"Ok, I've had a bunch of people ask me over the last week about their car's coverage, if it had rental, and what it would cost for an extended warranty.

I take it no one is working this any more.....have sent two PMs (Jeremy & Todd) in the past 8 days and have yet to get a response. Is anyone else working the Chrysler Extended Warranty?
I am interested in the extended warranty I now have 8000 miles on my car should I not wait till I get closer to the 3/36 before buying your plan?
