Chrysler Max Care Extended Warranty Todk64
The Maximum Care warranty cost me $1,600. The new rear end that was put in my 04 XF cost $3,300 not including the "no cost" rental for 5 days. There is no savings account that I know of that would have earned me enough to pay for that repair. On top of that, I have piece of mind that I really have no repair costs until my XF reaches 94,000 miles. If something goes wrong, I take it in, get my free rental and I don't care if they spend $100 or $1,000 to fix it - not my problem. My .02
I agree that you made out like a bandit. I just replaced both headlight assy's because of hazy and fogged lenses. They could not replace just the lenses. Just under 500.00 each for parts and 2 hrs labor at 78.00 and hour. These were covered under new car warranty which helped my heart rate considerably. Would these have been covered under your plan? Thanks for your input and also teaching me how to spell warranty.
Actually, the max care, bumper to bumper warranty does cover that issue, if you can get the dealer to back you. It also covers that crappy cup holder too. The warranty is a great investment unless you have an unlimited bank account. I don't so I got the Max Care just like insurance. You may never need it but you have it just in case. My dos centavos again!!

OK . I'm confused. Here are the detals. Purchased my X/F in October 2008 with 15,800 miles. The car in service date was June 2004. The dealer said, not a Chrysler dealer, that the 3/36 and also the 7/70 was also expired since i was the 3rd owner. Question, can i purchase a MaxCare warranty from Chrysler eventhough the car has been in service over 48 months?

If I understand the requirements correctly I am afraid you missed the deadline date of June 2008 to purchase the MaxCare Extended Warranty.(48 months after the in-service date)

Items not covered by Max Care:
Maintenance services and items used in such services.
Glass, plastic lenses.
Body and paint items, including soft trim.
Wear items such as manual clutch assembly, brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums and belts are not covered at any time.
Snow plows, winches and trailer hitches (no worries on this one)
is it worth buying these warranties with possibility of Chrysler going under. I just got a brand new crossfire 2008 limited with 0 miles and i am worried about the factory warrant not being honored since company will no longer exist. What should i do i heard extended warranty through third parties are junk and manufacture extended warranty are good.
1st thing we have to deal with is their are no certified tech's
left anymore at most dealers .
and they are not sending any to be trained on the Crossfire
2nd the Crossfire line was dropped.
and well u won,t be alone on getting screwed if Chrysler goes under,
i bought the extended plan and only hope for good results .....
NO way i will by another Chrysler if they drop the Ball on us owners

I posted info below on another thread, hope it useful to all

I understand there's a posting out there on the controversial issue regard what's covered and what's not. However, here's my contribution:
I got an extended service contract with Chrysler for $1,200 (after the 50% off). It's the Max Care warranty with $100 deductible for 7years/70k miles. The literature I have states you can receive a Garmin (Nuvi 255W) navigation unit with the purchase of a service contract, however, if you get the Garmin, the discount is only 25% off. Not worth it to get the Garmin obviously since the unit retails for $200 and you can get it way cheaper even if you shop around. The number I called was (800) 639-6366. Offer ends Dec 31st, 2008 and there's 0% financing on the deal.

Interesting, as I know of a few people that had them done under the 7/70 at no charge. Same with the cup holder. It depends on the dealer. Some will bend over backwards to help, others could give a crap either way.
Cup holder was replaced with either one of 2 options, replace the original or put in the tray. I really don't want to break mine but I'd sure like that tray.

I just bought a 04 XFire with the MAX CARE Chrysler Service Contract the original owner purchased at new. I am now the 3rd owner. Can that contract still be transferred to me? If I have to pay the 50 or 150 thats fine.
I believe that the 3rd owner can not transfer the original Max Care warranty. Perhaps you should go back and look at the beginning of this particular thread.
Great car though, good luck with it. I love mine.

I purchased a 2005 SRT, it is a Certified Pre-owned vehicle with the 8yr/80k mile warranty. I am having a difficult time transferring this for the $150 fee. Is there any dealer that can help me sucessfully transfer the 8/80 cpo warranty? I really wouldn't mind paying a $50 service fee for helping me out.
thanks
thanks
