All 2004 models were equipped the same.

The following years.....

Base:

cloth seats , plain painted door sills , non heated seats , 4 speaker stereo

Limited:
Leather seats
, Crossfire door sills , heated seats , 6 speaker Infinity 240 watt stereo.

Engines all the same for all years except of course the SRT6
I think this is accurate from what I have read here in the past and I know this is only a few things that come to mind and there are many more extras on the limiteds.

For 07 there is about 20 differences listed on the Chrysler website.....

Tire Pressure Monitoring system
Fog Lights
Homelink (3) Garage Door Openers buildt in
Bright Pedals
700 amp vs 510 amp battery
Air filtering
Dual bright exhaust tips?
Heated exterior mirrors
satin door handles
power seats
heated seats
leather seats
6 vs 4 speakers / 240 watts
mats, pockets, etc.

I have to say I've really appreciated the heated seats this winter....my wife's 2LT HHR has Remote start ...she starts it at work from inside to heat it up ...but remote start can't be had with a stick(I think)....& I think the heated seats are just as good a feature as remote start!!! (saves gas).

Chris L pretty much nailed what the Limited has over the Base model.

Chrysler's website does a much better job listing the specs than any of us can.

Hmmmm, that's weird cause my 04 is loaded, leather seats. door sills, heated seats. etc. So does that make it an 04 Limited Edition ?
After being on this forum for awhile I had always wondered !

I believe that in 2004 there was the "base" and the Limited models also . . . . my coupe is a Limited with all the "goodies" - everything that Chris L. listed !!

Yes, "Basically"! But, they weren't Called Limited & they were ALL alike in 2004 so they weren't limited. My 2 cents. SF

04's are special, it's the only year ever offered with an "automatic" dimming mirror.

Looking at my 2005 Crossfire brochure I see the following:

Standard on Limited and not available on Base:
  • Satin Chrome Door Handles
  • Universal Garage Door Opener
  • Three Piece Custom Luggage Set
  • Fog Lamps
  • Leather Trimmed Seats
  • Heated 8-way Power Driver's and 4-way Power Passenger Seats
  • Infinity Modulus 240-watt Sound System with Dual Subwoofers
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Optional on Limited and not available on Base:
  • 5-speed Automatic Transmission with AutoStick
  • GPS Navigation
As far as I know the Base model also has body colored side strakes and windshield surround where both are silver on the Limited.

My 07 Limited doesn't have the auto dimming mirror....that would be a great feature to have....wife's HHR has it & we love it & the XM Radio & remote start. I keep telling her how much better her car is than mine ....a little psychology has to be employed from time to time!

Chris L. - LOL . . too funny about the psychology with the wife !!!

I have to admit, I do like the auto dim mirror feature !! Works awesome . . . also having the Homelink is great too - no more garage door opener hanging off the visor or sliding around in the glove compartment !!!

Chris L.: That's hilarious. I use the same tactic. My wife's Sebring is 'better' because it has steering wheel radio controls ;-)

I too have an 07 limited. Perhaps we can find 04 self-dimming mirrors to install in our 07's.

Does it have the silver trim around the windshield? If so, it is a Limited.

Great line Chris.....lol Yep, that auto dimming mirror carries the day. I'll bet that car salesmen lick their lips when they see a woman headed in the dealership door. It would be like taking candy from a baby...

all 2004 models are basically "Limited" but since they were all the same they were just considered 2004 Crossfire. Not base-Not limited.

Hi, New to the forum.

I had a 05 limited, went to cadillac escalade, xlr and stuff for a few years. I picked up a standard 07 black xfire. Noticed it was a little spartan, but......I will add the factory fog lights, and can live without the other stuff. Car still looks great, I can find it in the parking lot, with such great styling. It's unique and fun to drive. In Wisconsin if you need to heat your butt, you should probably be in the storage mode already.

Thanks for such a great forum. I've learned a great deal about this xfire I didn't with the first.

Take care everybody have a safe summer
