Crossfire Limited First Week and First 500 miles Opinion
Car- 2005 XFire Limited, Automatic, 9000 miles, service date 10/06. Silver Blue color, Stock brakes, Stock Continental M/S tires- tread excellent.
Overall condition- excellent in my opinion.
My first drive opinion prior to purchase of my car- Wow what a nice vehicle for the $.
After one week and 500 hard driven miles testing its capablilities and mine- WOW what a NICE vehicle for the $ !!
I hope this is my longest post I ever place on this site, thanks for reading.

- Handling- picked up car with 9K miles on it. Front tire PSI 28 Rear 33. Drove it 6 days like this. Today put 32 PSI in fronts per door post PSI requirements, I don't like the handling as much. I really have to pay attention to the tracking/oversteer on the car. I may take tires back to 28/29PSI. Handling of car not as good as other rack/pinion sports cars I have owned, but is solid feeling. Bear in mind I am still learning HOW to drive my XFire.
- Engine/drivetrain- Sweet between 3-4500 RPM after 4500 RPM in my opinion it is mostly noise. I really like to use it on mountain/curvy roads keeping the car between 3rd and 4th gears, awesome engine control very responsive. What an engine for its designed performance. I can only imagine what the SRT6 power is like. I am jealous.
- Safety- AMEN. It has already made a believer out of me. Drove on Unfamiliar Double S turns at 50MPH, car built in safety features saved me from ditch. I would not have damaged the vehicle but would have been embarrassed, safety features worked as advertised AMEN.
- Brakes- I need to bleed my brakes to see if the brake pedal stiffens up some. The brake dust is bad, but I don't get excited about a 'dirty' car, I buy a car to enjoy it not look at it. If the bleed does not improve pedal feel, I will put something different at least on the fronts.
- Driver Seat- OUCH I have never had a car that actually hurt my right rear thigh but this one does, what is up with that? I read the driver seat comment from someone else, I did not believe them, I thought they were a wuss, but I am a believer now!
- Cup Holder- no comment
- Stereo- Infinity good system, if it is the same system for the convertible not enough power, but OK for the coupe.
- Fit and finish- nice materials and parts, solid car.
- Looks- I like it and so does all of my family and friends- don't see it everywhere.
- MPG- 21 combo driving (hard) 28 hwy MPG 65-75 MPH. I am very happy with the MPG.
- Insurance- best suprise of all, very reasonable for the type of vehicle it is.
- Visibility and driver position- front view excellent. Rear view good looking thru the mirrors, bad backing up due to blindspots.
I hope this is my longest post I ever place on this site, thanks for reading.

Not a big concern if they are stopping you well enough IMO
Brake Dust....most here including me installed "Rotex Golds" dust free and excellent stopping power www.brakeworld.com
Driver Seat. HHMMM I find this to be most comfortable
A 5 hour trip to Detroit and I never wanted to stop and stretch.
Just a few points here but all in all I hope you find absolute enjoyment with your car. They are a lot of fun. Gary

That is because your wallet is over-stuffed with cash you saved on the car. Remove and place in the glove box.
