It is minor damage. A 1/4 panel is non structural and it just appears to need that, a bumper and a new hatch. I could fix that car and paint it to look like new in 3 days(if all necessary parts were on hand).

Look a little closer.........2 quarters, hatch, rear bumper / fascia, possible roof to hatch mounting, pass. door, and that's just from pictures. I'm willing to bet if it buckled the drivers fender there's structural under there!

Left 1/4 looks like it's just dented(most likely happened on the lot or from the tow driver). I didn't see any damage on the passenger door. I could be blind though............white tends to hide damages very well.

I would say it's slightly more then 1/4 clip; I think the hatch would need to be replaced too. However, I don't see any damage on the door, but there is a dent on the rear driver's quarter panel that might be popped then skim coated. If I was closer I thinking spare parts warehouse for my baby; did I tell you the dealer wants $50 just for the plastic SRS emblems in the door!

I don't think it would be all that hard to repair but 9k for it is crazy, it wouldn't be worth that even if it was repaired

By Replacing Quater Panel Taillight Rear Bumper And Probably Repairing Inner Quater Panel And Replaing Tailgate The Job Is Done But Depending If You Can Get Good Used Part At Cheap Price.
This Is Not A Big Smash!

But if this car has a salvage title the cost of getting it reinspected and legal to put on the road in some states can be high. Also, you have a blemished title which would show up on car fax. Apparently if this car was such a great deal the repair shop would have fixed it themselves and sold it.

There Is A Couple Of Things To Think Of When You Buy That Kind Of Vehicule When It Was Declared A Total Loss

1.0 Th Eshop Does Not Decide If It Is A Total Loss, The Insurance Takes The Decision Upon Market Value Versus The Cost Of Repair And Poucentage Of Additionnal If Ever The Car Would Be Repaired.

2.0 If A Shop Repairs The Vehicule, There Is Few Factors That Plays A Role For The Repairs
A) The Type Of Parts Needed, Oem , Aftermarket And Used Parts
B) The Labour Rate (major Factor)

3.0 When You Buy A Total Loss You Have To Be Sure Of Two Things
A) Do You Keep It For Yourself?
B) If You Are Planning To Sell Be Sure That You Are Aiming The Type Of Customer Who Are Looking For A Real Bargain Because It Is A Total Loss That Has Been Rebuilted And No Warranty From The Repair Shop Will Be Geiven Or From The Manufaturer Because The Warranty Has Been Void.

I Did Buy Some Total Loses In The Past And You Need To Find The Right Customer For Those Type Of Vehicules Because It Will Never Be Original Again,,,, Never And The Price That You Will Sell For Will Not Follow The Market Because It Is Not In The Same Rank As The Other... Think About It You Have Two Car Identical And They Are Both For Sale One Is Original And The Other One Was A Total Loss Which One Would You Pick?

I have totalled out several cars against insurance company wishes. I don't know about other states/countries but in Las Vegas you can declare "structural loss" on a car that needs 2 or more adjacent structural members replaced.
