Pro's to coupe over the convertable?

So im thinking about purchasing a coupe but was wondering is there any huge diffrences except the obvious? Is the auto trans with the tap up and down option as nice as a manual? are the coupes stiffer?

You can get the autostick in a convertible too!

The trunk space in a coupe is almost twice as big................Plus I think the lines of the car look better in coupe form!

It doesn't have the sexy lines, but if you're looking for trunk space::p

Also one of the stiffest coupes ever built because its a coupe built on a convertible platform.

It's stiffer than 911s!

Coupe would be my preference because I love the lines of this car, but it is a matter of personal preference.

If you have to ask you probably will be happy with a coupe. Me, I need the ragtop - the wind in my hair, the sun on my face... I love my VERT!!!

If you are interested in taking the car out on the track, some
tracks limit the events convertibles can enter.

I prefer the coupe simply because I like the styling of the coupe more than that of the roadster.
The only other reason (I can think of) for choosing a coupe over the roadster is never having to replace the top.

Re: Pro's to coupe over the convertable?

the roadsters seem to almost always be a few tenths/sec slower than the coupes due to it being a little heavier. but then again, this is the best looking roadster out there. me? no regrets except i wish i would have gotten the srt roadster.

The ragtop has more headroom, top up or down. My wife and I love both sport cars and ragtops. I was debating whether to put all the eggs in one basket and get a roadster, but we like the looks of the rear swoop of the coupe better. So we also have a BMW 325 convertible to get the fresh air and sunshine fix. And it's more comfortable on extended drives.

If the top cant come down, it's parked! I'd like to have a coupe to go with mine.

Re: Pro's to coupe over the convertable?

Best of both worlds here. I think the roadster has a little stiffer chassis because of the extra gusseting required for a convertible. That's comparing it to an SRT6 which supposedly has a stiffer suspension. It's also easier to see out of the roadster with the top down, which is the way it is driven 98% of the time. The coupe does have more and lockable storage.

I liked the lines of the roadster more but now that I have the coupe and park them side by side, I'm ecstatic about both. I especially like the whalefin fixed spoiler on the SRT6.

I love my coupe because I can put our luggage in there with no hassles and hit the long open road. Also, the rear end of the coupe looks great ;)

Re: Pro's to coupe over the convertable?

I had a Boxter and I will never buy another roadster. The wind beating the crap out of me does nothing for me. In the Coupe I can enjoy listening to to my music, be cool with the air conditioning and talk to my passenger without shouting. I can also do without the sun burn.
I prefer the style of the Coupe but I love all you Roadster owners too....;). Peace, love and wear a hat!
