Tales of Crossfire love
I live in Northern New Jersey and let me tell you: Crossfires are RARE up here. I've had mine for roughly 8 months now, and I have seen a total of maybe 6-7 other crossfires on the road since then.
The great thing, however, is whenever I see another crossfire on the road something magical happens. The planets seem to align, and me and the other drive are suddenly in 'sync'.
Every time I've seen one it has always been the same; I either catch up to them and give them the nod of approval, or they catch up to me and give me the nod of approval. Instantly friends. We know nothing about each other, but we're suddenly inseperable highway buddies. We'll cruise along with each other until one of us is taking an exit, giving the 'farewell!' wave.
Back when I had my camaro I had attempted this once. I received an unpleasant jester back, followed by the guy dropping a gear and leaving me in the dust like a territorial jack rabbit on speed.
To me, the best part of owning a crossfire are moments like I had mentioned earlier. It's like we're a secret group of awesome people that own awesome cars. We're so awesome we make Motley Crue look like a band that would guest appear on Barney.
So how do you guys react when you see a fellow xfire owner on the road?

I saw my first "other" XF since becoming an owner two weeks ago. I was so excited (Sounds like a giddy school kid). It was after sunset and I flashed my lights to say "Hello!".
Haven't seen another Xfire here in at least 4 months. The last time I saw one I was zipping around a curve on a rural road (well, they're ALL rural around here) when a red coupe came zipping around the same curve heading in the other direction. Besides that close encounter the only other one's I've seen have been on the other side of 4 lanes. Did park next to a '04 silver coupe once at a Wausau tech. conference but the owner never appeared.

I'm sure we'll run into each other at some point!
I've only seen 4 or 5 other Crossfires when driving mine and they were all too far ahead to pull up next to before one of us turned off.
Did have a red Magnum SRT-8 pull up next to me and the driver gave me a thumbs up.

It's rare to see one here. But when I do, I wonder if the driver is a member of this site.
I've thought it would be cool if people of this website had a hand signal they could give the other driver to see if they are a member here. Maybe a two finger salute.

I only wish I had been in my Crossfire the day I stopped at the intersection of Oso Parkway and Antonio Parkway with an Alabaster Coupe waiting to turn onto eastbound Antonio while a Blaze Red Coupe was waiting for the arrow to turn onto Oso. I was headed south on Oso and we would have had 3 random Crossfires at the same intersection but for the fact I was driving my other car that day. What are the odds of that???

I have had my XF since Dec/07 and where I work I see about 4 other XFs on a daily basis but none of the drivers ever wave. I don't think they feel the love we feel for our XFs.
The only member I have been in contact with in the Miami area is RMADERMAN but we have yet to meet.

you can check out my chrome modifications as well as I remmber reading somewhere that you were intrested in them
But yea. We're going to run into each other one day for sure. Hah!
Where I live there are Crossfires all over the place. I saw two in the space of two blocks yesterday. Another different one today. In the community of 86,000, I'll bet there are a minimum of 15 cars. A couple of weeks ago, I saw two of the red special edition '06 models in less than 15 minutes of driving. I spoke with one man who had just bought a new gray coupe and he said that both his wife and daughter had yellow roadsters.
They are popular cars here. I can't make up my mind if that is a good thing or a bad thing. The aren't a novelty for sure.

Many people with similar vehicles wave to eachother. Ever seen a Jeep wrangler crowd? Those are "just Jeeps." It's not like those are exotic. Mini owners do it too, and Corvettes, and... you get my point.
Maybe we "Chrysler owners" just like to acknowledge the fact that we are enjoying an automotive secret many people are clueless about. We know that under the concept car body lies a sophisticated, German-built, performance car with an American car company name on it. It's quite unique don't you think?
Hmmm, that reminds me of another car, that just so happened to become a legend. Oh, and it was "just a Ford". Ever heard of the Ford "Shelby" Cobra? That was an English built AC sports car with a small displacement engine that Carol Shelby talked Ford into (so he could go race at Le Mans) letting him take some Ford 289 V8s and later, monstrous 427 V8s, and stuffing them under the bonnets, thereby creating one of the (still) fastest production cars ever made. Obviously the Xfire didn't get that popular, but I like to think of the standard Xfire as a modern interpretation of the 289 car and the SRT6 as a modern interpretation of the 427 car. They are European sports cars that an American car company took and replaced the so-so bodies with some fascinating sheet metal. Yes, I think they deserve a wave now and then!
Obviously at 17, you wouldn't understand, you're still just getting used to what it's like to drive by yourself. Maybe one day when you've had as many cars as I have, and experienced all the little quirks, joys, and heart aches different cars can bring you, you'll understand why some cars deserve a wave from another of the same car's owner now and then.
Oh, and a reply stating that "My dad has had Porsches, Bently's, and Lambos, so I know about different cars, bla, bla, bla..." doesn't apply to you as the owner.
Cheers!

I don't know... making love in a crossfire is pretty hard to do. Outside the crossfire isn't too bad, but i'm worried about the girl messing up the wax job or clear coat. It's not like a '79 pontiac grand prix where the back seat is a plentiful.
Just kidding.
Just kidding.
