Default Betty died... Lucky I didn't.

Well, cold *** water bottle dropped in lap + road construction + big friggin poll =

The poll was fine, thank god. It was one of the big reinforced street lamps that also hold the line for yield and stop lights. You know the ones that just blink either yellow or red. I looked down for just a sec, didn't reach for it like an idiot, but there must have been grooves in the road or something beacause I looked up at the sound of me hitting a traffic cone to see the pole about 15 yards away. I was doing 60! My right hand is cut up a little from hitting the windshield and my left leg looks like a bruised over-inflated football. Other than that I'm fine. My left leg hit so hard it pulled the knee bolster and the foam completely off.

:edit: For those of you not familiar with my posts, Betty is my xf, not an unlucky passenger :P

I'm going to start a company that just makes aftermarket front clips for Crossfires.

Must be a dozen of them in salvage sales, right now, with front end damage from deer, posts, mountainsides?

Haven't seen one with side or rear end damage.

Hah, don't be sorry, there's no such thing as a non-joking matter as far as I'm concerned. I'd probably joke about cancer if they told me I had it. And yes it would be a chance to do that but I think I may use it as a chance to do something I've wanted to for a long time. I saw a Nissan 240sx when I was 6(im only 21) and have liked them ever since. So I think I'm just going to start an S13 project. Who knows though, there is still that little srt voice back there in the distance yelling "I'm supercharged damnit!!!"

Ouch, you must be sore, IMO the XF held up pretty well for a 60 mph hit with a very solid pole...Glad to hear you're ok...

glad your ok! lemme ask you a question from a recently crashed XF to another crashed XF did the passenger side windshield get shattered when the airbag deployed??? mine shattered the windshield before the deer hit it and i think the deer did more damage to the windshield because it was PRE shattered.

you gotta love airbags. 60 MPH and you basically walked away. a good thing.

pretty impressive impact and no broken bones. Anyone need a drivers side headlight, no fogging. Your insurance is going to be nasty after this claim. I think you on the right track getting a car that is at least 15 yrs old. Good thing you weren't driving a mustang or a close friend would be posting of your demise.

I think it was a combo of both, the impact broke most of it, and then the airbag hit it.

Actually, as I'm six feet tall and pretty stout, I sit as far back as the seat will go, so I never touched the air bag except for the inside of my arms. Seat belt bruises FTW. Lol.

Little sore, my left leg is super tight and my hands feel like I've been bare knuckle boxing but otherwise ok. I went to work the next day (wreck was wednesday night).
