New Member (couldnt find intros)
Hello everyone, today at 1:30 I became the proud owner of a 2005 Base Coupe Crossfire. It is used with 30 k on the odometer, I traded a 1996 Chevy 2500 Silverado for it and I couldn't be happier. Night and Day my friends. I was turning heads already on the drive home from the dealership. It has a flowmaster exhaust that came on it and it sounds beautiful. Well I'm gonna go and get some driving done, thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions. -Michael S- Carmel, IN
Welcome! And congrats on your "new" xfire. I bet it's a lot better than an old chevy pickup. And better gas milage too! Enjoy your new ride.

Base models were introduced in 2005 and continued thru 2007. Only Limited models were built in 2008.

Thank you everyone. But alright, I have my first question. So on the back of my Crossfire it has a kind of sticker/decal that has the name of the dealership that I bought the car at. I really want to take it off because it looks kinda chaep and trashy. But I am worried about damaging the paint. Any advice?

Best way to do this that I have found is to get some dental floss and run it behind the decal (preferrably on a hot day so the glue is more pliable) then if need be find a paint safe glue solvent... can't remember the name of the one i use and it will take off 99% of the glue residue. finally go spend $20 on a clay bar kit and clay bar the car to get the last bit of residue from the decal off...
in the end you won't even be able to tell there was ever a decal there.
edit: p.s. welcome to the forum i hope you love your car as much as the rest of us love ours.

Thanks alot Zahanma, I'll have to try that. I cant wait to get it off, it just doesnt look right on the back of this amazing car. I am already enjoying the hell out of this car after one night, still trying to learn how to drive it though.....
I think the stuff that Zahanma couldn't think of is called GooGone, it takes old glue off the body quite well. You may try heating up the decal with a hair drier first.

WD-40 takes off adhesive and glue and won't hurt the finish. Just wash it off with soapy water when done.
It may be possible to lightly heat the sticker with a hair dryer to further loosen the glue, but be careful you don't do any damage to the plastic.
