Re: valve cover leak

Both of mine leaked. Both were fixed on warranty. I was told that there is not a gasket and that only a sealant was used. They replaced the passenger side valve cover as they thought it might be warped. The mechanic stated that this particular engine gets very hot and he thought it might always be a problem.

Re: valve cover leak

Dealer pointed out a slight weeping from the front of the driver's side valve gasket on my roadster last time it was in for an oil change. It was out of warranty, but we discussed it and the mechanic lightly tightened down all the valve cover bolts. Unfortunately the car went into storage soon after (I change the oil before hibernation) so I don't know if that solved it, but this seems to be a common problem. I've noticed just a little oil in the same place on my son's 2007.

I had a very slight oil weep from the front of the driver's side valve cover. Fixed under warranty when I had 'em do the seat heaters! So far, so good!
