over flow tube not draining

had to take car in to the shop wenday because my fuel overflow tube is clogged or somthing.. anyway they had to take the whole inner fender and a bunch of pannels to find this tube.. they will have my car until the 17th and the loaner vehicle they gave me was a chevy malibu..4 door... i dont get it i always thought if i bring in my car to get fixed because of some unforseen problem which they are covering under warrenty that they would give me something that at least resembled a sporty type car not a family car.. so im without until then...

Out of curiosity, did anybody even try compressed air, or simply try running a piece of wire thru it to try to unplug it?

the wire wouldnt go in more than an inch and when they blew air in it went fine... but when they poored water it went no were... they pulled the innerfender off and said for some reason the air went fine but the hose would collapse when the poored the water..

I think it is a drain tube for rain water or fuel spillage.

yes it is but mine was not draining i would take it to get washed and have to carry a rag with me to get water out so i could pump gas without worrying about getting water in my fuel..

That's strange, but why do they need to keep your car until the 17th.? Is it going to take them that long to get the replacement tube? Couldn't they just go to the closest hardware store and pick up a piece of neoprene hose to replace the line? Anything to get you out of that Malibu sooner. That's just cruel and unusual punishment.
