All-Season Tires???
Hi all, I have searched for all-season tires and am now wondering if anyone has any current info on snow handling, road noise and tire life. I have checked reviews on TireRack for Good Year F-1, A/S and they were not too good for road noise. Any personal experience on this? I am in the market for new tires and am trying to get the best bang for the buck.
Thanks, Allan
Thanks, Allan
Not too many choices out there for our rear tires in all seasons. Pretty much either noisy F1's, quiet but lousy at everything else stock Contis, or the more expensive Yoko Advan S4 which I haven't heard much about. You really have to bend over and take it for all season tires for a Crossfire and I'm not looking forward to it either in the next couple weeks.
So far, I am very happy with these tires on my 04 Crossfire coupe. The 120 lbs of sand tubes I got at Home Depot also increased snow traction a little more.
I run F1s in the winter (Pilots in the summer) and to me they are noticeably noiser than the pilots....then again the road is worse in the winter too, everything colder and firmer etc....
My F1 A/S only have about 3K on them so far. I haven't run them in the snow. But for now they are so much quieter than the orig Contis I took off. And I thought they did well at the Fall Dragon run. No noise yet. Time will tell. I guess everyone's threshold is a bit different.

I seem to be in the majority here ! I had also read of road noise running the GY - F1's but installed them anyway.
Really happy with the tire ! Road noise ? I'm running Magnaflow exhaust so tire noise is pretty much non-existant. But traction wise, the Goodyear's have the Conti's beat all to snot !
We don't deal with snow here in my part of Texas, but get a lil rain on these oil slick hiways down here and they turn into skating rinks !

I just switched from Pilot PS2's to Eagle F1 A/S and I love them. Much better grip on wet roads, much better grip in cold weather, the ride seems about the same, and while they are a slight bit noisier, its not much of a difference. They look pretty badass too

And as Philly stated, they do look badass!

I've heard the F1's are really bad on noise. Read the reviews. Tire rack doesn't say it, but a lot the people that have rated it do.
And I've heard nothing but good things about the Yokohama's.
I mounted a set Toyo Proxes 4 all season tires on my stock rims. Been really impressed with them. Haven't had them over a hundred yet but they are speed rated. I can hear and feel them a little more than the PS2's they replaced. Reviews make big claims about their dry weather performance but have no first hand knowledge yet.
Discount will match TireRacks prices, plus the shipping cost. Just put a new set on mine. Only have a couple hundred miles and still waiting to see how they do on snow. The "summer only" F1's were worthless in snow.
You just missed the rebate I guess, it was $670 delivered to my door after $50 rebate from Tirerack. Received them in two days out of Indiana.
