Honestly, it just looks painful harsh on the tires. (Can't imagine what it's doing to the drivetrain)

All I could think about when he was doing that was burning money, not rubber.

When I have seen this done, I asked myself wether it was a stolen, or borrowed bike:)

yeah, you are just glad it isn't yours...I like to do a burn out now and then, but never like that...ouch...

As a recent graduate of the Doc "Smoke 'Em If Ya Got 'Em" Burnout Academy, I highly recommend Doc's burnout method. Good clean fun! Just be ready to buy new tires after you stop giggling like a schoolgirl.

obviously from your recent drag times, you were paying too much attn....oh, that hurt....

Watch those rear brakes, they are going to wear/heat a bit during that burn out. Might need new brakes with those tires.

Is it possible to just step on it and burn with a limited automatic? Never tried it but maybe soon. Ron

Re: possible to do a standing burnout?

I never really understood what was so great about "burn out" contests. They prove absolutely nothing, except that you know how to abuse your car. I mean I've seen an anemic 6 cylinder, automatic, 1960 Ford Falcon brake torqued long enough that it finally broke one of it's "skinny" tires loose. Once it breaks traction, it will spin as long as you keep your foot in it, or something mechanical breaks.
I understand why guys do burn outs at the drags, (to warm up the soft compound of their drag slicks and make them stickier) but on a good set of street tires, it's a waste of time and rubber.

Re: possible to do a standing burnout?

these cars are way too pretty to do a standing still burnout. I dont see myself doing it ever unless at track, i need to roll them to clean them a bit for traction.
