No one's wearing a bra?

Ok. I bet that got your attention. Why is it that I've not seen a single photo of the XF at this forum with a bra on it? Is this against some religion I don't know about or what? Too sexy to hide it with a bra?

Bras are a big pain in the butt, dirt & crap get down into them.....a lot more trouble than they're worth!

Re: No one's wearing a bra?

Bras are like seat covers, they keep the car looking good for the next owner. Let him pay for a nice paint job, you did.
Most of whats covered is plastic anyway.
Clear bra, yes. Ugly black bra NO!

Black bras belong one place only and its not on the front of a car, besides they are no fun to remove like the other kind are.

Re: No one's wearing a bra?

bra's on cars were a fad back in the 1980's lol. They do more damage to your paint than it would if you did not use one.

Total BS....in my opinion. I can show several good dings from before I got the bra....can't show you any afterwards. And, I dare say, you can not tell I ever had one on it. But then again, I only use it for road trips and it's removed as soon as I arrive. It's cleaned and stored for the return trip. It's also not used if it's raining. Like everything else, if it's used and maintained properly, it's purpose is served. Most mileage on mine is interstate from FL to PA and elsewhere in between (mainly NC).

But, to each his own. I personally don't like them at all......but I dislike dings from disintegrating pavement and log truck debris even more.

LMAO, defend that 80's fad if you like. Not only do they look hideous on a car, dated and tacky but they CAN cause damage. Get some grit under that thing and bye bye paint finish. Get some water under it for an extended period of time and there is your paint damage. It also can prevent the area covered from fading and there you go, a 2 tone paint job.

i guess it is fine if you just stick it on there for a trip but you still risk damage. glad you like yours though lol.

Re: No one's wearing a bra?

I put a bra on my car before long trips/ GTGs. Before I do, I put Ice Liquid Polisfh on the front to help prevent friction. I remove it as soon as I get back.

Re: No one's wearing a bra?

The only road gouge I have in my front bumper is from a trip I didn't feel like putting the bra on. Have been whacked many times with it on and have no blemishes found.

I've seen these clear bras for sale on e-bay but being a newbie to the forum have no idea what they are. Plastic stick-ons? or some kind of decal? Are they worth the effort? My '05 coupe has been suffering from the tiny specks of road grit on the hood just above the grill. Any advice is always welcomed.

Re: No one's wearing a bra?

The clear bras are definitely superior but require professional installation. That increases the cost considerably. I would highly recommend it for a daily driver. I'm not sure about the one's on ebay.

Bras are GAY! Good quality clear overlays are better if you must.

Re: No one's wearing a bra?

Common sense would tell you not to put a bra on a dirty car, common sense. I only use mine if I am going to be on the highway and I have just cleaned the car, like the trip to Carlisle otherwise its stowed behind my front seats in case I need it. It may be an 80's fad but I use it for a purpose and only that one purpose.
