Help With Wheels

I dont understand what it means by offset? to my understaning our wheels are the back are 35 offset correct? I'm looking at these wheels and there 19x10 with a 22 offset will these fit?

By 22 offset it means the wheel is closer to the inside of the car rather then the outside correct?

Please help if they will fit I really want to get them :D

Hey Down Under!

Offset is the distance from the mounting face of the wheel to the theoretical centerline of the wheel. My friend maxcichon has some excellent documentation in the sticky in the tire and wheel section of the forum. He posted a great tool that will allow you to play with different tire and wheel combinations (and offsets) and you can see for yourself.

The link to the tool is;
http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp

I will upload an output image of the stock tire / wheel / offset for the Crossfire. Check it out and have fun; you know - down under!:p

Re: Help With Wheels

Paul, don't you think this web link should be a sticky in and of itself? It would sure cut down on repeated queries.
No offence intended Kov! It's just that this is the best graphical tool I've seen for virtual fitting of wheels and tires. It should be easier for folks to find.

Re: Help With Wheels

Max,

I one hundred percent agree! It seems like at least every one to two weeks someone has questions on wheels and especially offset.

Hey admins; can we have Max create a general info post and then make it a sticky and then lock it? I know just making it a sticky allows folks to post and it takes a bit of effort to do a "look see" and find the information they need?

At least I can just book mark the post and just paste the URL in a reply. Once again Max you have proven your genus!;)

And Kolevski I hope the tool works for you...

Stay safe...

Re: Help With Wheels

our crossfire came with an offset od 22 rear( with no lip) and 30 on the front (no lip) if your wheel has a 35 to 45 with a 2 to 2.5 lip it will equal the same in other words look at the stock wheel it is flat across the front top to bottom that is no lip. hope this helped. I have lug bolts if you need then (you can't use stock bolts unless the hub is the same thickness , jim
