Chrysler's claimed 1.1 skidpad...
I was wondering if anyone knows how Chrysler got a 1.10 on the skidpad. I have seen this mentioned in a few Crossfire advertisements. This is the highest number by far of any car I have ever seen. It is .2 more than what Car and Driver got. What does everyone think?

Yep, there is a thread on edmunds going about this. One would think that DCX would check their facts before making this claim. Also, I saw the ad as a 3 page pullout in CondeNast Traveler I received yesterday.
Any tech's that can answer this one?? |
I went through a few articles a while back on how skidpad numbers can be deceptive in terms of rating handling.
Essentially, depending on which number they use, the G rating on the skidpad can simply show how well it sticks to the ground, they may not be able to manuever when they achieve the highest G number. Also the Crossfire's 1.1G was with ESP active, it received 0.88 with ESP off. I haven't read the C&D review in detail but did they perform the skidpad with or without ESP? |
