Default Painter needed for unique project...

I have been kicking around the idea of doing my XF in a matte black since I bought it and now that I am having to have a little paint work done on the front end, I am interested to see what it would take to make the conversion.

I am aware it would not be cheap, but I am hoping with the backing of the right XF lover who is a great painter, maybe we can work something out, especially considering this is not something done everyday. Maybe a type of sponsorship or something, who knows.

If anyone is interested in creating something unique and first class, please PM me....

Thanks

John

Woody, if you have any input from experience, please share.

Scuff it. Mask it. Spray it with clear with a flattening agent. You can even modulate the flatness you prefer.

Indeed I did, he is in Russia and used vinyl, not paint, I don't really see the connection

Agreed - have a professional wet sand the entire car with 800 -1000 grit (but don't cut thru the clearcoat) - then spray this stuff - you can make this clearcoat have a really matte finish.

Don't polish when done....

Seen an ol' chevy truck with it applied - - quick & easy prep - save's $$ on a complete paint job.

I am curious also....trying to matte my 94 stang black. I want to do it myself since I will not need to daily drive. I can really take my time.

Wow, I am amazed that it turned out halfway decent and interested in learning more LOL

I am sure there are the same amount of people on here who would criticize if something like this was done to an XF

If you had a car that was all rusty that would be a great way to mask it all, cover the holes with sticky paper and spray away.
