My Car is being Eaten!!!
As I was cleaning my engine bay I noticed a softball size wad of insulation. After removing the wad it appears that something has been eating my insulation that is on the drivers side firewall (probably a mouse). As far as I can tell it doesn't look like any wires have been chewed on and everyday I am planning on checking for more debris. Is this something that can/needs to be replaced?
Thanks,
Tom

Check your muffler....
I heard a rumor that mighty mouse likes to make a home there
just lay a few traps in the garage and sticky paper...see what happens.

Get a cat - we had a major mouse problem in the house we bought in New York. The cat had a great time clearing them out - the place was mouse-free in a couple of months and she kept them away.
I had a rat get into my engine compartment and eat several wires. I poisoned the rat but had to have the wiring checked and replaced in my Xfire. It cost $3500 of which I had to pay $1000 (my deductible). The ins. adjuster said that it was not uncommon. Get a cat.....
I saw that Dodge has used a soy based insulation on their wires and possibly in the other insulation. So the Dodges are being eaten also. Is that why we have an infestation problem as well? Cats are a possible solution, until they climb onto the hood for warmth and scratch the paint. The sticky paper is probably the best answer.
