Default Anyone checked their mileage?

I'm still working on my dealer supplied full tank of 93 octane, and with over 200 miles I am still showing 1/2 tank. Chrysler says 21 city, 28 highway and I have been putting on mostly highway miles, but so far mileage looks as if it should be good. Also mileage usually increases as the engine is worn in, so I'm pretty pleased.

I've got 3,125 miles on mine. My usual driving is a mix of city and interstate. I'm getting right at 23mpg. And I still like sticking my foot in it to hear the pipes in first and second gear. I did take a long intersate trip about 1,000 miles ago and I got 27.2 mgp highway. I'm happy as can be. Much better mileage than I get with my 4.0l Explorer.

Believe it Mark, just checked my odometer, shows 232 miles, had 29 on it when I bought it (my test drive) and they filled it up. Guage shows just above 1/2 tank. I must admit, I have not hot-rodded this car and won't until I have a few more miles on it. Real pleasant result considering my previous ride. Best regards - Bob

Default that's great!

You must've accidentally gotten the electric/gas hybrid prototype they intend to release in 2005...

Nope, got the V6 stuck under there. I can't vouch for the accuracy of the guage though, I may need a push on my way to the gas station. Takes 15.1 gallons, will post an update when I fill-up.

The only thing I've done is install K&N filters.

I have over 7000 miles and do a mix of city / highway mostly hiwhway and get at least 25 mpg on road trips I have been getting 27 - 28 mpg. The gauge is funny the 2nd half of the tank seems to disappear faster than the 1st half

Almost every car I've ever owned had a fuel gauge that the first half tank went a lot slower than the second half. Keep in mind cars us a float type variable resistor type transmitter. Not as accurate as the dialectric type that are used in aircratf, which are much more accurate.

The non-linear Crossfire quage should be designed to compensate. I want to fill-up when the guage indicates exactly one half empty and see if it takes 8 gallons. (15.9 gallon tank - my error previously describing it as 15.1)

My second tankfull showed a fuel-burning rate of 24.6 mpg; a mix of freeway and city.

That's pretty much in the ballpark with what I'm getting.

Just returned from an 8000 mile trip around the US. Crossfire ran great, tires are OK, got about 27 miles per. Turned a lot of heads on the trip, even in Las Vegas. Only problem was tire inflation light kept going on on cold days. All this car needs is a little more horsepower, then it would be perfect. I wish DC would come out with a upgrade.

sambo 13: Just as I drove the car off the lot the tie inflation lite came on. Drove around the block and back to the service area. The right rear tire was about 4 lbs shy of spec. Filled to spec, and the lite went out, nev3r to return. However, that 4 lbs does not fall within the lite's specc so I think it was coincidental. Anyone else have this lite issue?

Mine came on once. Caused by a punctured left rear tire. Tire was repaired and lite has been off ever since. I do check my tires when I wash the car (once or twice a week) and adjust the pressure as needed. I have a compressor w/ 25 gallon tank in my garage. Makes airing tires very convenient.

VegasCrossfire,
Trip took 5 weeks. Lots of side trips and stops along the way. I should have posted my trip, too late now. Seeing 2 Crossfires together would have pushed everyone over the edge. I'm going back in August. I'm trying to rent a condo for 4 months, I want to see if I can give up Florida and move permanently.
