Remote control only works if key is in on position.

On another forum, there was a discussion about programming the remote garage door opener. They determined that it would only program if key was in on position.

My opener only works if the key is in the on position. All of my other vehicles work without having to turn the ignition switch on.

I am in the silly habit of turning my engine OFF before closing the garage door.

Does anybody/everybody else have to do this? Is this something that can be changed?

Thanks,

Dennis

Yes I fumbled around for a day before making the key in the on (not accessories) position connection. The book does not spell that out. But after parking in the garage, I use the hardwired switch in the garage to close the door.

System works great here in our gated community too. I use the left button to control the garage door, the outside button to open the out gate, and the inside button to open the in gate.
